The Best Propaganda Yet

Postby Weird_Ally on Sat Jul 08, 2006 3:10 am

So I bought the gospel today and read like 5 sections, mostly out loud to a couple friends in Starbucks ("Friday School" we called it). Then we went to play pool with more friends and I kept setting the book in plain sight and showing people. Needless to say, everyone picked it up at one point or another and started reading random pages of his word (and wanting to read more). :o :fsm_yarr: :fsm_float: :fsm:

My point is, that setting the book down in random public places might be the best propaganda yet!

Haha, I went to Fashion island (a mall in southern california) to buy my macbook pro and the gospel. I got to the Barnes and Noble there, I asked the staff where I could find The Gospel of the FSM, and the one old lady looked at me like I was crazy, but the college kids standing next to me were surprised that there were "others" :D

needless to say, college kids are the most likely to convert, you know, cause of the grog and ramen noodles. :fsm_yarr:

Do Barnes and Nobles or Borders carry the Gospel?

I think both, definitely BN, infact if you go to one near a college campus you'll be sure to get some high fives and be the coolest person in the store. :fsm_rock:

Yeah, it was in the comedy section at B&N, I was offended.

That's why I moved the Bibles to the Sci-fi/Fantasy section.

Already done... (Although not a "Mass" Protest. There were 5 of us, and we WERE in pirate suits) :fsm_yarr:

Getting back to the original post, I too have found that leaving the gospel in random places is the best propaganda. In my Spanish class we all sit in small groups and one time I left my copy on my groups couch (yes, we get couches) and when I returned I had four new converts.
You've filled his house with things of gold
While handing crumbs to the old and poor
And then you preach about being pure
And wonder why we're laughing
In your old way you're trying to find us
But we can't follow what's behind us
Too much blind faith, it will blind us
Though sometimes it's a blessing

But I remember when I still embraced you
A little prayer would ease my mind
'Til I saw that you hide from the misery outside so I left you behind
