I just had a crazy idea... perhaps a ballad of Fearsome Pirate Pete... I wrote his story (am writing really, but I stopped. I really should finish it soon.) for the Loose Canon, but then the organizer got sick and hasn't been on in six months and maybe some public interest was lost and then the gospel came out and such.

but if I gave you the story or a summary, could you write and preform a ballad of it? because that would just be wicked sick. :fsm_rock:

Yeah, I'll have a shot at it, between other bits & bobs. I've been recording with a drummer lately, so it may come out punk or janglepop or something.

Yep, the link to the recording still works, and I'm flabbergasted to note that it's been downloaded 69 times! Gosh.

Something strange, though. My original post (and one other) now contains the phrase "microwavable Siberia." What the hey? I didn't write that. I think I wrote MP3 (that's EM-PEE-Three, in case it morphs again here), and it changed to that. Strange.

EDIT: It did it again! You can't write the name for that music file type here! But in the edit form, it's still the familiar two letters and the number. Who's idea was that?

Thanks very sincerely, Gloria. The thought of someone else playing one of my songs is delightful. It's just a few chords, if I remember right-- C, F, G and an Am? Or was it Em? Haven't played it lately, myself.

And Q, I know I said I'd have a go at doing a song based on your story, but I'm like...really old and tired, you know? Not even getting my own stuff recorded. Sorry.

Don't remember exactly how it went, but here's what I have from memory:

What would the
C: Flying Spaghetti Monster do?
F: That's the only question that
G: Converns me and you. We're
Em: searchin' for the
Am: truth...

But the Em and Am chords could both just be an Am chord held over.

(Hope I remembered the lyrics accurately, too. Proof, truth?)

Corrected lyric & chords above. There's no Em, it's that C-walkdown thing, where you go from the C note on the A string to the B note for one beat before forming the Am. Other than that, it's all C F & G, in various order. But if anyone figures out a different way to play it that pleases them more, rock on.
