Ramen or RAmen?

Postby Michelangelo » Sat Jun 03, 2006 2:06 pm

I would like to know if the official capitalization of our expression of approval is Ramen or RAmen? Response is greatly appreciated and needed for a current project.

People do it both ways. No clear standard. RAmen gets the point accross better, I think.

I've always prefered Ramen over RAmen. Makes it seem more natural and original.

I always go RAmen... probably because it would look weird if we were all randomly saying ramen.

but I suppose at a physical gathering, there would be no difference.

It could be a dialectical issue. There's "ahmen" and "ayemen", so there could be both RAmen and ramen.

On the other hand, 'amen' reproduces the silent superiority of men. We don't have an 'awoman' or 'ahwomen'. "pastapeeps" might be more eucumenical, or "allfolks" , given that initially the word meant assent. Or something like "verichelli"

Another question that I have is the use of the images provided on the main web site. Can images like the basic one that says "WWFSMD?" and the "Touched by his noodly appendage" be used in publications?

Officially, they're the property of Bobby Henderson exclusively, but everybody and his grandmother has used them, including major publications, so feel free. (That was not an official statement.)
