For me, Eraserhead is the obvious choice as well. Best read the reviews, as there is alot of symbolism in that movie.

A few years ago, I sat through the entire series of Lars von Trier's Epic 'The Kingdom'. It's set in a Hospital built over a old burial ground. Spoken in Danish with subtitles - very eery.

The Mating Habits of the Earthbound Human

A somewhat bizarre flick with Carmen Electra (always good, hm? lol). A suppossed documentary on the mating rituals of humans, narrated from a (confused) alien standpoint. My friends and I think its hilarious. But we're weird :-)

eXistenZ I thought that was actually suprisingly good, especially as we say it quite soon after the Matrix and found the alternate take on 'people programming' intersting

I agree. eXistenZ was surprisingly good. However, you have to admit, it was STRANGE.

eXistenZ is also one of the few movies with high CGI factor that does not parade them despite virtual reality being the actual theme.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

It wasn't that weird, but it was a little. I saw it on Saturday. It was awesome! And possibly the only time I've ever seen Jim Carrey act serious.

Gotta be the Mel Gibson version of Hamlet. C'mon if Mel's Hamlet Glenn Close should have been Ophelia not Gertrude and they could have cast Olympia Dukakis as Gertrude. (Talk about unresolved Oedipal complexes.)
