While I confess to being excited at the emergence of His Noodly Wonder the Flying Spaghetti Monster, I am mostly here to lurk and enjoy. As the sole living Priestess of Conrad I feel some cognitive dissonance in posting, but am inextricably drawn to the board.

I can usually be found hanging around religious debate boards when I am not making offerings to Conrad (His Great and Holy Bubbles be praised) in the tree where he first gave revelation to me some 4 years ago.

Glad to see the board and will be looking for the Gospel around town today.

LOL..that's the first time I've had someone say that. I've had it on for a while and am just not ambitious enough to keep changing it. Seemed appropriate given the First Cause of FSM :D

We have a group aversion to creationists--especially in groups.

I think it's because so many of them curse at us and threaten us physically (and with damnation) right up until they tell us that Jesus loves us and they'll pray for us.

Now see already we have so much in common

Hello and apologies

Postby scaryharry on Wed Mar 29, 2006 2:27 am

 I apologize to the moderators and to his Noodlyness for diving into a discussion without first reading ALL the rules, but my excitement upon hearing that others have also been touched by the noodly appendage clouded my judgement.
I was introduced to FSM through the USA Today article, so here I be! AAAAARRRRR!!!!! I've always been a fan of Italian food ( I'm a theosophist AND owner of a pizza shop) and I started sailing four years ago and fly the skull and crossbones regularly. At one point last year I seriously considered boarding an Amishman's boat and stealing his fish! I didn't realize at the time that I was doing my part to stop global warming. I may have to install some cannons.
Again,as an avid reader, I am embarrassed that I overlooked some rules, and apologize and ask forgiveness of his Holy Noodlyness. If there is pennance that I need to pay, I suppose reading the gospel would be a good start. I look forward to future discussion.
thanks,

He didn't go to Las Vegas, because it's his opinion that Las Vegas sucks.

He'd spent some time working for a casino, and wanted a job in a different area.

hope he found it

The PastaCoalition is a group of individuals in north-central West Virginia that love the Flying Spaghetti Monster and attempt to end the oppression of it.

would it be a hassle for you guys to meet somewhere near DC? we've already got a good group of DC-metro area pastafarians, and it'd be cool to meet you guys, at least once.

Greetings!

Postby jrblackwell on Wed Mar 29, 2006 3:02 pm

Greetings! I am J.R. Blackwell. If you have read The Gospel, you may be asking yourself: "Is this the very same J.R. Blackwell whose essay; "Evidence of a Baker" I SO enjoyed in the book of Bobby's Gospel?"

Indeed, my observant friend, I am that very J.R. Blackwell. When I am not writing essays about the FSM, I attend UPenn in violent persuit of my masters degree. When I wrote my essay, I had just completed a class on the philosphy of biology. My professor was a fan of the FSM and his enthusasm spurred me to write the essay. I got a B in that class and I am sure to rub it in with my professor that none of his other students got their satire on intellegent design published. Of course, the final paper may not have meant to be satire.

When I am not writing essays in praise of the FSM, I am writing science fiction for 365 Tomorrows, the flash fiction website. (www.365tomorrows.com)

Thank you to Bobby and his editor for finding my essay worthy of inclusion in the book. I'm happy to be in the community of FSM believers.

RAmen!

MAJOR coolness, and some exceptionally good writing. That's a tough deal. Writing well in few words is hard.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked 365 Tomorrows, and you are right, fitting a complete story in less than one thousand words is a challenge, but doing it regularly has really challenged me with my writing. I would say that I am a much better writer than when we started 365 in August, and I'm excited about how it continues to challenge me.

Thanks for checking it out!

Good afternoon, fellow Pastafarians. I am Brian, from the Land of Burning and Suffering, also known as Florida. I am happy to be a part of this church and its objective.

but matza ball, we'll think that you're crazy/stupid if you spell badly, like you are. not that we'll ban you or anything, but seriously, give an effort to type complete words.
