When His Noodly Appendage moved me to declare for the FSM at a public debate in Sydney on 31 March, I got a ripple of appreciative laughter. The debate was on the proposition that freedom of speech includes the licence to offend. Particularly as one of the leaders of the debate was an archbishop, I believe I achieved that. Seventy-six per cent of the audience voted for the proposition. It was a fun evening.
The debate can be downloaded from the website of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, under ABC Fora: http://www.abc.net.au/tv/fora/stories/2 ... 534072.htm
