An Authentic Pirate Weapon

My first attempt at a slungshot.

If anyone knows a good inexpensive source for hemp (not Manila) rope, particularly in the PNW I'd be much obliged.

I hear the old makers of this weapon would soak the end in resin, to give it extra punch.

im just saying it would be a hard thing to conceal...
if your going to knock someone out cold, it might be a bit incriminating to have a bit of rope with a cannonball attached at one end...

Maybe you could make a little one, based around a marble, for ease of concealment?

Or one from bungee cords, for that silenced smack to the noggin?

Any pirate firearms other than the crappy smoothbor single-shot pistols? think we could bend the rules a little to include early revolvers and repeating rifles? It's only like,1 or 2 hundred years later than pirates.
Ok whatever

Very nice weapon, useful both close-up and at a range.

WOW, 20 minutes of whipping than a waxing to make that slugshot - sounds like that would put spring in an old pirates gate.

Why is it past tense? Slungshot instead of slingshot?
