Well, pirates are a kind peoples, who love to have a jolly old time. They plunder in order to finance their "Happy Children" Campaign, to put it simply. They want to make every child in the world happy. So, they use their plunderings to buy candy for all children, and give it to them on Halloween.
They also use this money to buy grog, so that they would not be bored while picking the candy and would choose different kinds.
Also, the idea that they "wench" is a misinterpretation: They really allow everyone to have a good time, including women that they hurt in their plundering. This also improves the general mood of the crew, which allows them to be jollier all the time!
I hope this helps scratch the surface of Piratism. Thank you.
During the Space Race, American astronauts were faced with the problem that ink from their pens would not stay on the pentip.
After spending millions of dollars and a few years in research, they came up with the ballpoint pen. This solved the problem.
The Soviets, faced with the same problem, used a pencil.
