Noodly Pirate Name Generator

Postby NeferKa » Fri Mar 17, 2006 3:04 am

I'm creating a Noodley Pirate Name Generator and I would appreciate assistance. What I need are first names, last names, and adjectives for both males and females.

Thanks! :fsm_yarr:

Will it help the energy crisis?
The smoke wafted gently in the breeze across the poop deck and all seemed right in the world.

Hoo boy, silly names! Right up my alley, wheeee!
Well there's the obvious adjectives; Crazy, Notorious, Smelly, One-legged, Hairy, Buxom(f), Barrel chested (m), etc. Need more?
For names are you going 'normal' ie: Sally, Jenny, Barb, etc. Or silly ie: Gertrude, Peubert, etc.?
Last names would probably sound good along a celtic slant...? Like MacAugher or O'Really. (hee!)

Good suggestions! Keep them coming.

I want a really big list so (hopefully) there won't be repeat names.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! I hope I can get this generator done sometime in the near future.

Please keep adding to the list; it's very helpful for me.

Hmm. Thar be several other threads with pirate names, but methinks they are linked to other generators. Is this an attempt to make a unique one here? If so, I offer the following. (And if this be out of line, send me to go swab the deck and not walk the plank.)

Marty McSwab
Knuckles Whalebone
Raffe O'Ninetails
Kate Cutlass
Limey Skunkwater
Bilge Billy Barrowclew
Scurvey Dan MaGinty
Saltwater Sara

I've seen some other generators, such as the ones at:
http://gangstaname.com/pirate_name.php
http://www.fidius.org/quiz/pirate/
http://www.stupidstuff.org/main/piratename.htm
http://www.froggynet.com/cgi-bin/pirate.cgi
http://www.privateerdragons.org/caseys_shiphold3.html (female names)
http://www.privateerdragons.org/caseys_shiphold2a.html (male names)
or are you going for totally new names? you can otherwise swipe a bunch of names from these guys... and hey, that's what pirates do, right?
