Just got the playlist for Friday figured out. Mostly focused on more traditional songs, or at least sea shanty sounding songs, though there is still a decent rock influence. A few good rock covers of traditional songs. Couldn't find any traditional bands doing covers of classic rock songs, though.

Anyway, it'll be 6pm again, this Friday, for one hour only. It'll be my last show until the next semester, so make sure you tune in! Or I'll be very hurt... and... do nothing differnet.

Qwerty, I've just remembered - the British folk group The Spinners did a lot of shanties, including at least one album of them. They were real traditional folkies.

BTW they also did the only canal bargee's song I've ever heard. It was very, very notty and NSFW but of course they Bowdlerised it.

We're not getting your show. We're getting something else from WCNU that is definitely not pirate radio. Any idea what the problem is?

Not technically, no. But apparently WCNU has been down since sometime Monday. All that's broadcasting is the iTunes off the automation PC, but I'm unable to broadcast anything from my own devices like before.

WCNU does not seem to be managed very well. Hopefully things will be running more smoothly next semester, though.

In short, no Pirate Radio tonight.

Oh, wow, I definitely should've posted here that it won't be back till sometime mid January. Already on break, and it'll probably take a week or two for the radio station to get it's schedule figured out.

I'll be sure to tell all ye'z. I might be doing the same playlist as the first show, or perhaps a slight variation on it, if I can muster up some advertisement beforehand. Re-introducing it to the campus, being the idea.

Actually, probably closer to the 28th. Next weekend is when WCNU is doing it's scheduling meeting, so the week after that should be when the shows start.
