yup pardner, you are --- personally was happy when New England and Dallas were out and my horse team now does not have to deal with the possibility of San Diego knocking them out again

when feeling provincialish want the Indy Colts to take it all, but actually now would not mind any of them going to the big dance, though would be especially interesting for Archie Manning* if it ends up being Indianapolis vs New Orleans

*for those of you who care less and know even less about US football - the quarterback since 1998 for the Indianapolis Colts is Peyton Manning whose father, Archie Manning, was quarter back for New Orleans from '71 through '82.

I was also correct that the Pro Bowl would be boring. Seriously, it was like watching a high school exhibition game.

did not bother. Who won and who quarter backed? I know I could look it up, but more fun asking you.

AFC won. They kept rotating new QB's in every drive or two.

I did think of one way that they could make the Pro Bowl relevant, if they're holding it before the Super Bowl now. Whichever conference wins the Pro Bowl, the team from that conference in the Super Bowl "wins" the coin toss.

It doesn't really help, does it? Every player in the Pro bowl KNOWS they aren't going to play in the Super Bowl, so it wouldn't make a difference to them. From the point of view of the teams in the Super Bowl, it's just random since they don't have any players in the Pro Bowl.

Well most of the players in the MLB all-star game won't be going to the World Series. But they still do something similar with the home-field advantage thing.

But most of the players in the all-star game think they could be in the world series and the teams in the world series had players in the all-star game. In the NFL, that's already decided at the time of the Pro Bowl.
