All this talk about summer. It's winter down here. Cold but sunny.

We actually had a lovely day today. Warm and sunny all day, no rain at all. Several people were hospitalized due to shock. I chose to celebrate by moving thirty some-odd wheelbarrows full of firewood from the yard into the basement. Because I so enjoy having a sore back for a week at a stretch. :fsm_old_man:

English isn't much of a language for swearing. When I studied Ancient Greek I was delighted to discover a single word - Rhaphanidosthai - which translates roughly as "Be thou thrust up the fundament with a radish for adultery."

Lovely (boring) day here today.

It is so boring that we get wind warnings if the speed goes above 7 kph.

It poured here today.
Yesterday was very nice.

At least it's not cold and snowing.

Yet.
True terror lies in the futility of human existence.

Malcolm Reynolds is my co-pilot.

ET, says who???
Penciltuckey is a pretty big state. Depending on your location, it could be somewhat mild in the winer (around the Philly Dilly Way or pretty bitter (up near the NY border way).
We've had some pretty bad winters around these here parts.
Not as bad as Maine, but we also don't have Lobsters.
(sorry, very tired)

People think Australia gets cold. It doesn't. Anything above ten degrees is not cold.
Damn shiverers.

(It's sunny and warm right now)

I know someone in Tasmania who told me it gets cold down there...

The people on the radio are already saying that road construction crews are rushing to get things done before the snow falls. It's August! If it snows before October I'm going to be really, really sad.

A misconception. Tasmania is not part of Australia, it is a piece of Antarctica that has floated too far up.

That's what you get for living in yon frozen north. I'm guaranteed a good few months of fall before any winter-like situations.

Pfft, yeah, no kidding. I was in DC in April and it was ridiculously warm. I had packed sweaters and other early-spring-type clothing, and when I got down there, all the trees had leaves already and it may as well have been summer. Crazy people living where it's too warm to breathe...

And it really doesn't usually snow in October. It's just that it did last year.
