We're supposed to get blasted with snow tomorrow into Saturday. Up to two feet. My luck, it won't start until after I get to work, and the ride home will take two hours.

You're working, ET? Massachusetts Governor Patrick told all non-essential state employees to stay home. I suppose Maine's governor has a reputation for being dense, though.

We've even heard about it on the BBC. Sounds bloody dreadful. We're getting some snow tomorrow, they say, but not like that.

There was a quick spot of the white filth here earlier but it stopped after about 2 hours and there's none of it staying on the ground at the moment.

We have a complete absence of weather. The sky is idling in neutral. Uniform grey, not really bright, not really dull, might rain later, might not, not cold, not warm, not windy but not still. Meh.

Sister-in-law got about 3 feet of snow. Friend in CT got 2 feet plus. Brothers in MA got about 2 feet. Friend in Poland (the town, not the country) got over 2 feet. Friend in RI got 3 feet. Co-worker got 2 feet.
We got about 8 inches.

The contrast between the snow the USA's been getting and what we get in the UK is immense. We've had weather warnings, terrible cold spell coming etc etc and you look out the window and see a few flakes...then on the TV you see American homes almost buried under snow! We really are pathetic.

Here, the weather just simply sucks. It's about 40 degrees Fahrenheit in the morning, and uncomfortably hot during the afternoons. There's no snow here, just rain and overcast skies from time to time.
