That would make the Commons more interesting, making them wear fancy dress. Maybe they could have a big fight, zombies vs. vampires? Michael Howard could give them advice.

Yes, they do look very similar. Is that what you wanted me to say?

I always suspected that inside Anne Widdecombe was a Slitheen from Raxacoricofallapatorius.

I'm not sure I like what you're getting at there...captions the wrong way round indeed :furious: ...I'm obviously the one with the good teeth.

Ditto…

So, fans all over the world are paying tribute to their dead musical icon. I wouldn't do it, but 'disgusting'?

I think the fact that they're submitting their religious stuff to the shrine. I found that pretty... interesting. Not disgusting, necessarily, but definitely... dubious.

It's like declaring Michael Jackson to be some sort of religious symbol, and that sure is disgusting.

That is exactly what I meant.

Eeeew.

Oh, I interpreted it to mean that they were invoking their religion to take care of him in the afterlife. Nothing 'eeew' about that! Even elephants have funeral rituals.

Steve McNair, a former NFL quarterback, has been shot to death. I don't know who he was, not really being a sports fan, but I figured he might be prominent enough.

Yeah, the only point where religious symbols came up was in this early paragraph.
Young Russian fans, some of whom don't even speak English, bring homemade signs, pictures and drawings of Jackson, Russian religious icons, candles, teddy bears -- all signs of how much they loved the singer.

Clearly not elevating Michael Jacksons status. CNN just put Michael Jackson and Religious in the same sentence to draw attention to it.

And yeah, Steve McNair. Apparently he was found dead with some younger woman, possible girlfriend, I think. I have yet to read a story about it, just heard stuff from my dad the sometimes NFL buff.

McNair appears to have been the victim in a murder-suicide. Shot four times, twice in the body and twice in the head. The woman was his gf, apparently shot herself in the head. Was recently arrested for OUI with him in the passenger seat. From radio news yesterday.

English isn't much of a language for swearing. When I studied Ancient Greek I was delighted to discover a single word - Rhaphanidosthai - which translates roughly as "Be thou thrust up the fundament with a radish for adultery."
