ANONYMOUS PROTESTS

Postby Anon on Tue Feb 19, 2008 4:38 pm

Hello followers of FSM. We are anonymous. As we are sure that you are aware of the growing conflict between the church of scientology and anonymous. For those of you here who are not aware of our fight please view the links following this post. And to those of you who are not already anonymous we would like to officialy invite you to our cause.
March 15th we will be holding a world wide protest infront their churches.

Information is free.
Scientology isn't.

We are anonymous.
We are many.
We are legion.
Expect us.

Scientology is so fucked up.

You forgot one of the most important sites:

whyaretheydead.net
*WARNING* contains some potentially disturbing photographs. Please, enter only if you are over 18, or if you consider yourself mature enough to view such material. Do not say that I did not warn you.
May the glorious Flying Spaghetti Monster bathe you in his wondrous Mercy, Love, and Garlic Sauce!
May He bless MP3 Fiesta and their noodlicious music bargains!
May He also watch over Roffleopolis and touch it with his marvelous Noodly Appendages.

yes I have heard of your worthy cause and know that I would fight a scientologist should I meet one. I happen to know one but he moved to colorado. and know, anon, as a pirate I will plunder his booty and pillage the church of scientology should he return to Louisiana and bring his church with him.

Woah, woah.. I thought we were a Peaceful, Tolerant religion! Thar be no need to attack another's beliefs!
Even if they are as crazy as scientology..

If I understand the Anonymous movement correctly, they are NOT going after scientology as a belief system. What the Anons are going after is the organisation called the Church of Scientology. This organisation, although they claim to be a religious organisation, behaves rather more like a business and cult. You have to pay thousands of pounds for expensive courses, "auditing", loads of books etc. As far as I'm aware, faith and belief SHOULD be free. The Church of Scientology also has a long and sordid history of going after critics, including harassment and litigation (google "Operation Freakout" and "Operation Snow White", and the "Fair Game" policy). There are also persistent and substantiated allegations that the CoS splits up families through its policy of disconnection, and allegations that the CoS has been implicated in the numerous deaths among its members, including the famous case of Lisa McPherson (http://www.lisamcpherson.org/).

There are lots of Scientologists who have distanced themselves from the organisation that is the CoS, on the grounds that they also feel said organisation to be harmful and destructive.

So - methinks Anon is OK as its going after a dangerous cult not a belief system.

I almost responded to him earlier, but didn't have time or the words to explain it. You did it far better than I could have.

All religions have some scary implications but are mostly benign in their application. Scientology has some scary implications but is also intensely scary in their application.

So, what he said.

Right. I knew that Scientology was purported to be a big scam but I didn't realize just how serious it really is! Big eye opener.
It's just amazing that they've managed to get away with all they have..
