According to an article in the Metro (don't judge me, I was on a train) it's based on a study that's found that people eating chocolate tend to lose weight faster than those that don't eat chocolate. I noticed the Metro bit had no information on controls so my guess is it's a prelimary investigation into controlling appetite through rewards. The idea is that if you take two people that both want chocolate, the one that can't have any will eat more of other foods to compensate. The person that does get to eat chocolate has a bit, satisfies the craving and stops eating.

Also, I suspect the 'eating chocolate' group were 'eating an incredibly tiny amount of chocolate' group, not 'stuffing their faces with family bars of Dairy Milk' group :haha:

Objection your honour! Dairy Milk is not Chocolate.

Did you know that if I can resist eating the chocolate I am alright but if I give into temptation (which is 99.9% of the time) I end up wanting more?

Did you know that in the 18th century it was possible to hire a pineapple for an evening?

Pineapples would cost about the same as a new coach to buy so only the very rich could afford one.

Confectioners were able to rent out a single fruit for weeks to a succession of wealthy customers and the fruit would get progressively more rotten.

Yes. Yes I did know that. It's still pretty cool, though. :haha:

Did you know I just watched an excellent programme on the BBC iPlayer called Prog Rock Britannia: An Observation in Three Movements (it disappears in under 30 minutes, at least on the PS3 version). It was made in MMVIII, so is 4 years old, but I must have missed it when it was originally on. It covers progressive rock bands such as Yes, King Crimson, Egg, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Genesis (when they were awesome), Caravan, The Wilde Flowers, ELP (Emmerson, Lake & Palmer), Procul Harum, The Beatles (Sgt. Pepper, if you were wondering), and Mike Oldfield. I love this era of music, so it was a rare treat to hear so much of it, and to learn a little from the people who were not only there, but also played it.
