Lent

Postby farfalla on Wed Feb 06, 2008 8:42 pm

In honor of Lent, which starts today, even tho pastafarians do not observe it:

things we might give up for Lent or would suggest others give up

I will start,

Hillary Clinton gives up wearing pant suits

*edited to capitalize Lent

You should capitalise Lent, because it's a proper noun, first of all...but, anyway:

I, personally, gave up swearing. I have a foul mouth.

I honestly can't think of any....I've never been good at current events humour.

The thin line between genius and insanity is less of a border than a union.

Each year at this time I like to give up self-improvement.
I will honor Monkey in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.

I think everybody everywhere should give up trying to control others' "moral growth"...

And on a personal note, I should really give up watching
"misheard lyrics" videos on youtube....But I know I won't.

I vote we give up the idea that sacrificing things we like because we like them is a good thing to to.
I believe it's time for mankind to set aside the crutch of religion and embrace morality born of reason and truth. Those crutches have long since proven treacherous when the ground gets slippery.

* note - this is in the "Fun, Games, and Jokes" section
the examples I used were for humor - not what some one seriously should give up in a self sacrificing way or in mean spirited criticism of others. Hillary, if you read this, IMO the pantsuits are really fine.

every day I should give up my 8th cup of coffee

I give up imagining hot chicks wearing clothes. It's too difficult on my vivid imagination.

Seriously, though, I give up chewing on the cord of my mouse. It's going to kill me one day.
A flap of the wings yesterday means big changes tomorrow.
Let's work together to keep the present inevitable.

So yeah, I went and got a blog.

I have been asked to pass along the following message...

*clears throat...unfolds paper*

"Please stop putting your mouth on our "cords"...."
sincerely,

By rounding every clever person in America up (wouldn't take long, just get everyone off this forum) and telling all the other ones to invade Britain. When they invade the Canary islands instead we rush into America and take it over. Simple.

It's not an ellipsis, it's a pause........I use more dots to indicate a longer pause.
