That's what she REALLY said

Postby Capellini on Mon Jan 07, 2008 11:19 pm

Since the "That's What She Said" game is so popular, for personal growth I thought we'd do a thread where we accurately identify the quotes from the game.

The only rule is that you can't identify a quote you posted yourself, and when you respond you have to include the next quote from the thread. We're going in chronological order, so I'll post the first one:

Ken posted:

"We have nothing to fear, but fear itself"

Who really said it?
True terror lies in the futility of human existence.

Malcolm Reynolds is my co-pilot.

"The only freedom deserving the name, is that of pursuing our own good in our own way, so long as we do not attempt to deprive others of theirs, or impede their efforts to obtain it. Each is the proper guardian of his own health, whether bodily, or mental and spiritual. Mankind are greater gainers by suffering each other to live as seems good to themselves, than by compelling each to live as seems good to the rest." - John Stuart Mill

If I understood Cap's instructions correctly, the next post to identify would be rainswept's "You've got me? Who's got you?!", which was a line from the movie 'Superman.'

Then Cap posted "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.", which is of course, 'Rhett Butler' to 'Scarlett O'Hara', in 'Gone with the Wind'

Leaving it to the next poster in this thread to identify MPT's "Innocence proves nothing!"

I only know that quote as a warhammer game.

This is going to be a short game considering I purposely went by themes in my quotes and I'm the most frequent poster.

You're gonna see a lot of posts that say "That was Calvin"

Edit: Rainswept neglected to post the next quote: "It isn't easy being green."
I believe it's time for mankind to set aside the crutch of religion and embrace morality born of reason and truth. Those crutches have long since proven treacherous when the ground gets slippery.

That was Kermit the Frog.

Next one is:

"I find your ideas intriguing, and wish to subscribe to your newsletter."

That was Homer J Simpson

The next one was Jestie's "The internet is not a big truck, it's a series of tubes."

EDIT: I just realised that in the next few posts I actually posted the real person who said it. Who's a silly boy?
A flap of the wings yesterday means big changes tomorrow.
Let's work together to keep the present inevitable.

So yeah, I went and got a blog.

This thread is a collossal failure...Trying to mirror another thread which is already 20+ pages longer is futile, even if you could find posters who bothered to read the thread purpose/OP...

Perhaps this should be deleted, and replaced with an actual quote thread, where you guess the actual attributee, starting with all-new, fresh quotes.

Yes, I apparently overestimated the abilities of the membership to read and follow directions.
