WOO I WIN.

I have a round face that I show to thee
And arms that move about me.
I've a belt which I myself do not wear,
and a penchant to talk for hours without air.

What in the world am I?

I'm gonna go with clock, though that may be too obvious. Also not entirely sure if belt works with it, but what the hey, it's a guess.

Always runs but never walks
Often murmurs, never talks
Has a bed but never sleeps
Has a mouth but never eats

What is it?

WoOt!

I get to have some extra grog for that one! :drinking:

I'm not too good with coming up with riddles, but I do have a puzzle book in front of me.

Anyone up to doing a cryptogram?
Simple substitution code. I added some "." so it's easier to see where the spaces between words are.

YATSHVDBDQM . . . DB . . . VES . . . BIDSQIS. . . GL
YHHSBVDQM . . . ECXYQ . . . DQVSWWDMSQIS . . . WGQM
SQGCME . . . VG . . . MSV . . . XGQSP . . . LHGX . . . DV.

eek - hope I copied that all down right

A man is assembling a trade caravan to cross the desert. It must be comprised of three carts tied together with lengths of rope cut from a single coil of rope, and pulled by a very strong camel. The first cart must carry 203.0765 mol of gold, the second must carry 50L of water, and the third must carry 70kg of wood. If the camel is capable of exerting 900 N of force, how much tensional force must the ropes be able to withstand? Assume the molar mass of Ag is 196.97 g/mol, that the density of water is exactly 1000kg/m3, and that the µ (coefficient of friction) value between the cart wheels and the dry, cracked ground is 0.3.

Yeah. N is newtons of force.

Force = mass times acceleration.

1N of force is the amount of force necessary to accelerate 1kg of mass at 1 m/s^2. Therefore it is equivalent to 1kg*m/s^2.

1N/1kg = 1m/s^2. Follow?

Edit: It occurs to me now that you may in fact be trying to give me the answer to the question rather then questioning my metric units.

IS this the case?

That's a very specific amount. Why not just say 40 kilos?
