What is Your Theme Song?

Postby Duke on Mon Oct 31, 2005 1:09 am

What is the song that you relate to in some way or like very much?

Mine are:
Superman, by Goldfinger
In The Middle, by Jimmy Eat World
March Slave, by Tchaikovsky, and
O Fortuna, from the Carmina Burana, by Carl Orff

I think I may have some more, I can't think of them.

Well, I'd have to say......

"Reise Reise" by Rammstein (the music, not so much the lyrics)
"Hands of Death (Burn Baby Burn)" by Rob Zombie
"Demonoid Phenomenon" by Rob Zombie
"Falling Away From me" by Korn
"In the End" by Linkin' Park

......this is, of course, only a small list off the top of my head.

"Comfortably Numb", "Wish you were here" and "Julia dream" by Pink Floyd
"Words" by Neil Young
"New Dawn Fades" by Joy Division
"Cello concerto" by Elgar
"Always on my mind" Pet Shop Boys cover of Elvis.
"Paint it black" by the Rolling Stones
"Entrance of Gods into Valhalla at end of Das Rheingold" Wagner

(I've stretched the definition of song a little...)

I guess I'll continue my list....

"Liberati Fatali" by whoever did it, I don't know.
"Unforgiven" "Sanitarium" and "King Nothing" by Metallica.
"Waiting for Darkness" and "Center of Eternity" by Ozzy Osbourne
"Meaning of Life" by Disturbed
"Kryptonite" By 3 Doors Down
"Drunken Lullabies" by Flogging Molly
"Dust In the Wind" by Kansas
"On the Turning Away" by Pink Floyd
"Closer" "Head Like A Hole" and "Only" by Nine Inch Nails

As you can probably tell I listen to music almost constantly, I use these songs and more to help me write my stories. And since most of the characters are based upon myself in some way or another I have a lot of songs I consider "Theme Songs".

"In The Middle" sums at part of me, Superman and Days Like these just make me feel happy. Oh, and Superman is sort of meaningful to me.

What? Sounds like you're making fun of them. Don't know why, they're good. I especially like "All the small things", "Aliens exist" and "Always". I think I'm probably the only 50-year old you'll ever meet who hears (among many other kinds of music) punk rock....8)
