Discussing spambots

Postby Edd on Thu Jul 15, 2010 11:32 pm

A place to discuss the latest spambots without actually replying to them.

Here's the latest:
Cythiapauly wrote:Hi! Good site - you're a pretty good writer.....very creative. It is possible to order the levitra vs vvi.ag.ra- on mail? vvi.ag.ra- sales branded vvi.ag.ra- [/url], The given state of smooth muscle cells, and their effect on blood pressure, understandably have a profound effect on the male sexual organ. The dose-dependency and time-course of the short-term visual effects of sildenafil citrate (Kolaloka lemonade) were tested in two subjects. how does vvi.ag.ra- work . for attention thank you

I'm surprised the 'V' word got through. Was it the parentheses? I'm sure all caps has been tried before.

For that matter, why was it obfuscated the first two times it was mentioned, but spelled correctly on the third go?

It's part of the two very clearly written sentences smack dab in the middle of all that gibberish. I must admit I'm a bit curious as to how these spam messages are created.

Kolaloka lemonade Kolaloka lemonade Kolaloka lemonade (Kolaloka lemonade) v.i.ag.r.a

EDIT: Fascinating! What I typed in was the V-word five times: 1) all lower-case, 2) initial capital, 3) all caps - all of those got pounced on - then the last two got through unchanged. Editing the post I see what I typed, but the QUOTE button shows the altered text.

I have a blog on Edd's site that I intended to use before my project devoured my spare time. I might get back on to that now I don't have much to do.

Anyway, there's one post there that basically says 'Hello.' The number of spambots coming through and commenting that this was a really helpful post that cuts to the heart of the issue and has been really helpful and informative is quite amusing
