Sorry Edd, I was never much for the traditional super hero comics. All my comics are either arty/alternative comics, or they're manga.

No worries, PK, that post was what I refer to as a super-subtle-inside-joke whose target audience is only myself.

See, I found it somewhat humorous to focus on the lack of knowledge concerning fictional characters instead of actual historical figures. But what really tickled my funny bone was the fact that my first, knee-jerk reaction was to chastise DTH for not recognizing American presidents by sight, so I chose to chastise everyone for not recognizing the Storm siblings instead.

Well, that's certainly saying something. To be perfectly honest, I mistook Teddy Roosevelt as Thomas Edison.
I can't recognise many Australian Prime Ministers, just for the record. I know Bob Hawke, John 'Satan' Howard and Kevin Rudd.

I used to read Fantastic Four as well. For about half a year. Amongst Amazing X-Men and piles of manga.

Those are the only three Australian PMs that I recognise, too. You mean to say there have been others?!

I think that the position of President is somewhat different, though. We elect MPs to represent the interests of the people in their individual constituences. The dominant party (that with the greatest number of seats) also gets to choose which MPs also get given a portfolio of jobs that apply to the whole country (e.g. education, health, industry, defence etc.) and get to be called 'minister'; the leader of the dominant party automatically becomes 'Prime Minister'.

The US president, as far as I can see, is more of a separately-elected head of state; the equivalent of our Queen and her direct representative, the Governor-General. How many GGs do any of us recognise?
