What's in a name?

Postby GreenRain22 on Wed Jun 18, 2008 8:06 pm

So, basically, why's you're screen name your screen name?

Like....

The story behind GreenRain22

Green: Been my fav color for at least 10 years, and it symbolizes saving the eviroment (I'm a tree hugger, won't lie.)

Rain: Rain has been my nickname for about 2 years, and I'm always happier on a rainy day... I'm found playing in the puddles and mud-biking.

22: Lucky number. Don't ask why, it just is.
Kaylee: Wash, tell me I'm pretty.
Wash: If I were unwed, I would take you up in a manly fashion.
Kaylee: 'Cause I'm pretty?
Wash: 'Cause your pretty.

It's a broken hearts parade
And I'm putting my heart out on display
There's no masquerade
Just a funeral march for love today
The band strikes up and they're playing a song
Dressed in black, and we're singing along to the
Broken hearts parade
I've never been better then I am today

I love you. You're awesome.

On Topic: Zankou is the name of a demon from Charmed. I liked it, and it became my handle. Everywhere.

OO;;;; Uh.. yey? ^^;;;;;

THATS where Zankou was familiar! I've watched Charmed on and off whenever it pops up on TV.

Rowan happens to be my last name. It wasn't always, but when my ex and I were getting married, neither of us had any attachment to our last names. Collectively, we chose another name, Rowan.

I wanted a pirate name for the forums, and Rowan Redbeard sounded rather fetching. I changed it to Rev. Rowan Redbeard after becoming an ordained minister.

Oh. And while my hair may look black, it is actually a very dark auburn with a tinge or red in the sun. The beard has a bit more red, but still appears to be black/dark brown in most lighting.

It's a kind of pasta. And it sounds cuter than Rotelle.
True terror lies in the futility of human existence.

Malcolm Reynolds is my co-pilot.

"The only freedom deserving the name, is that of pursuing our own good in our own way, so long as we do not attempt to deprive others of theirs, or impede their efforts to obtain it. Each is the proper guardian of his own health, whether bodily, or mental and spiritual. Mankind are greater gainers by suffering each other to live as seems good to themselves, than by compelling each to live as seems good to the rest." - John Stuart Mill

Well, you see, I was once Cap'n Turtlehead. I chose that because I couldn't think of anything much better, and because turtles are cool. Then the Capellini Wars began, so I changed my name to this. PG (then PirateGuy, now PantyGnawer) began to change his name too. At first, his was PracticalGuy. We had fun changing our names, so I kept this one.

I was also inventing (and solving) a bunch of mysteries, like "The Portsmouth Slasher," (now available on VHS and DVD) "The Mystery of the Dinghy of Fools," (now available on blu-ray) and "The Mystery of the Missing Doomsday Laser". (Now available at all major bookshops)

Then the boards changed, so I'm stuck with it. I still like it, though.

And my pirate name's "Shoutin' Bill Smythe"

Black Bart or Bartholomew Roberts or Le Joli Rouge (that's where Jolly Roger came from), was a Welsh born pirate whom I have always admired. I share the surname but not the swarthy skin and I don't always wear red.
The smoke wafted gently in the breeze across the poop deck and all seemed right in the world.

Moral Minority...

Why?

I am a minority. Several, in fact. Also, I consider myself to be a moral person (nonviolent, treehugging, healthy (physically), respecting, respectable).

Inb4 I was AZN Pride which had something to do with my ethnicity and my being proud of it. I changed it because I can't stand the caps in AZN and because I learned that ethnicity is not something you should be proud of.

Is a rubber tree the best tree to hug? The others seem a tad hard to me.
