I'm feelin' it, too. My sweetie's co-workers have a talent for that, too, and I'm not that much older than any of them. Back to thread topic (slightly): the lovely Jewel Staite has a role on Stargate: Atlantis. She plays a doctor instead of an engineer, but still a very likable character. The bad news: SG: A is in its final season.
While I'm thinking about it: Dark Horse comics occasionally puts out Serenity mini-series; they typically don't run more than 3 or 4 issues. If your local comic shop doesn't carry it or if you don't have a local comic shop, the issues tend to be collected into graphic novels which are then available at a good bookstore.

So, has anyone else noticed that Summer Glau has grown up WELL?

Did you realize she's 27, and actually older than Jewel Staite?

O.o Woooow. She has.

Although, I thought she was very pretty in the series, in a soft, weird way.
Kaylee: Wash, tell me I'm pretty.
Wash: If I were unwed, I would take you up in a manly fashion.
Kaylee: 'Cause I'm pretty?
Wash: 'Cause your pretty.

It's a broken hearts parade
And I'm putting my heart out on display
There's no masquerade
Just a funeral march for love today
The band strikes up and they're playing a song
Dressed in black, and we're singing along to the
Broken hearts parade
I've never been better then I am today

I think she should be able to find something better than the Sarah Connor Chronicles, though.

Well you gotta start somewhere.

I am a HUGH fan of the show, I did however not start out that way, back when the show was on the air I hated it cause I couldn't follow the story with how torn up the continuity was( they showed the 1 st ep. last) but when the series came out on DVD I decided to give it a shot and loved it. I totally had a geek moment in the theater when I first saw the trailer for the movie. I saw it twice and took my girl friend there the second time after telling her how much I loved the series.

I first saw the Captain the the 5th season of Buffy the Vampire slayer playing a demonic preacher killing other slayers and giving Buffy a run for her money ( Poor Xander ). Seeing him in Firefly took some getting used to.

Hey vedek, would it help if you thought of him as an odd version of Han Solo? And while I'm on it, Han shot first. Get your paws on a copy of the unaltered film. Lucas edited it later so Han "wouldn't appear to be a cold-blooded killer".

"Han shot first" has been old news since a while back. Hell, George Lucas wears t-shirts that give it away. There's no mystery there.

Why the hell would I be looking at T-shirts George Lucas wears? I never said it was a mystery, I just didn't know. It's just a bit of random that I did not know.

SHEESH fbc. :)

In anycase, I got someone hooked on Firefly this week. Bwahaha.

I'm actually the same age as the Star Wars franchise, if you date it back to the release of the original film. I was just passing along a bit of random for people who hadn't seen the unaltered version.
Congrats for getting a new fan into the fold. The more the merrier!

Maybe if we all buy enough Serenity merchandise, we can convince the studio that it'll be a good idea.
