I need to get a scientist do to study on the phenomenon of songs that will be stuck in your head for a certian period after watching them, but that you cannot recall later on when you want to. just a few notes however seem to be able to stimulate the memory and suddenly the entire song lodges it's self in your head. the most noticable example is the song from disneys electrical parade, which is stuck in my head now, but I know I won't be able to remember it in a few hours. here's a link in case you don't know (or inexplicably can't remember) the song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFTl7Qab3rk
I've found another example, nt quite as catchy but I an never remeber it unless I've listened to it a few minutes ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uEOqn8eIx8&feature=channel_page
anyone else noticed this? if you can provide some examples it'd be nice.

Fur Elise is like that, for me, and so is the "Halloween" theme.

Our central heating boiler will spontaneously fire up for a minute or so every couple of hours, and when it cools down it makes a ticking noise, which then plants 'Dance Away' by Roxy Music in my head. It's the claves at the beginning that do it, I think.

OK, I just tested UbiDubiKid#1 to see if she could recall the Disney Electrical Parade music today. She spent the other night singing it without being able to stop, and today she cannot recall it at all! All she gets is Tetris music whenever she tries to remember it. And the same kind of thing happens to me. The song is gone, but just a few notes will bring it inescapably back. AAARGH !

And now UbiDubiKid#2 has just sung us a few notes of it, and it's back. It's going to stay back all night, I can just tell. Here we go for another evening's serenade. At least it's not the most annoying earworm song Disney has. There is one that's worse, and I'm not going to mention it, or you will ban me.

I've been trying to get Aladdin's A Whole New World song stuck in my head, but no such luck.

One of my guitar-playing friends always plays 'Strong Enough' by Sheryl Crow right after he tunes up, to see if the guitar sounds OK. That's me for the rest of the day.

My God, yes. Hell, that whole movie got me, it's one of my favorites, and yet I've never figured out what that song was. Something just keeps me from looking it up.
