That seems to point up a significant difference between Europeans and Americans. A European says: "I can't understand this, what's wrong with me?" An American says: "I can't understand this, what's wrong with him? - Sir Terry Pratchett

The great thing about Beaker is his ability to provoke while still being decorous, or at least within acceptable rules of conduct - Qwertyuiopasd

For the past few months I've had two songs stuck in my head, that come and go frequently but don't stay away for long:

Raffi - Bananaphone
and
Little Richard - Tutti Frutti

I decided to try combining them today.

*rapidly-repeating, janging piano note*
BOOPADOOPADOOP!
BOOPADOOPADOOP!

A-womp-bomp-a-loo-mop-a-lop-bop-bop, bananaphone!
A-womp-bomp-a-loo-mop-a-lop-bop-bop, bananaphone!
I feel aw rooty, like we're frutti,
For us to get together and *something inappropriate*!

I've got Bryan Adams' Everything I do (I do it for You) stuck in my head, but not the original. Rather, the version Stewie does on Family Guy.

Ubi Dubius has Dominic the Donkey stuck in his head. He had never heard it before, but heard it on the radio once and it was so dang catchy that he got it stuck. He told me about it, I looked it up on Youtube, and now I've got it stuck in my head too. Blast. The stupid, it hurts.

The total nightmare used to be when the unspeakable Lord of the Dance kept going for hours at the back of my head. Now I find that I can usually kill it by imagining the opening of Schubert's Fifth.

I've still got Tutti Frutti and Bananaphone stuck in my head.

Mad Maud has had a stuffed Michigan J Frog hanging from a door frame in her house since she was little, like he was lynched or something. I'll have to take a picture next time I'm over there.

Waltzings for Dreamers ... but I do not mind it

Oh play me a blue song and fade down the light
I'm sad as a proud man can be sad tonight
just let me dream on, oh just let me sway
while the sweet violins and the saxophones play

one step for achin' and two step for breakin'
waltzing's for dreamers and losers in love
one step for sighin' and two step for cryin'
waltzing's for dreamers and losers in love

if it is not Scottish it is crap -- thank you Mr. Thompson

Which Mr. Thompson, though? Danny Thompson plays bass on the track too. There's a bit just at the end of the verse, running into the chorus, a little bass run down that goes C-A-G-F that sticks in my head and I use it all the time. It's also in Townes Van Zandt's Pueblo Waltz: "Sunrise comes and I don't know why (C-A-G-F) Livin' loves and the day does fly". I used to hate playing in F, Bb and Eb until I discovered that 'third and first' finger position. It all clicked into place one day when I was playing along to Pueblo Waltz, and the very next track I put on was Waltzing's for Dreamers. Now it's part of my tune up and warm up routine (along with the Indigo Girls' Wood Song - more Danny T!).

This is the song that never ends,
Yes it goes on and on my friends.
Some people started singing it
Not knowing what it was,
And they'll continue singing it forever just because...
