I lived in Europe for eleven years and the thing I miss the most, gastronomically, is a dessert called Spaghetti Eis. It is not spaghetti-flavored ice cream but rather ice cream that looks like spaghetti.
They put good vanilla gelato through a spaetzle press or potato ricer to make the noodles. On top goes either strawberry or raspberry sauce and they usually garnish with chipped coconut to resemble parmesan cheese.
