Tonight, we had sea scallops with snow peas and sweet golden pepper slices in a sweet-hot maple and hot pepper sauce, brown rice with mushrooms and onions, offset with pineapple chunks, and washed down with some of my home-made Gewurztraminer. About as close to ambrosia as I'm likely to find.

Last night I finally ate the Terry's Chocolate Orange that I got for Monkey.

I ate Chinese takeout from Tasty Island in Malden, MA, on Saturday. The food was all extremely bland, except for the chicken wings and the hot and sour soup.
The chicken wings tasted pretty good, but I worry about WHY they tasted good. What was on them?
Why do I worry? The hot and sour soup was neither hot nor sour. Rather, it literally reeked of horse shit. Because I'm stupid, I took a bite anyway, and it tasted no better. I had the runs all yesterday, and for the rest of Saturday the odor of horse shit was wafting up to my nose from my stomach, even though I only took one bite.

It's that week celebrating that dead Scottish bloke. I had haggis, it was nice. For pub haggis it had a lot of flavour but I'm still not keen on swede.

Pheasant in red wine casserole. We had haggis on Burns Night, and very nice too.
