Pastafarianism vs. Tarvuism

I am a devout pastafarian, but i was recently introduced to tarvuism http://www.tarvu.com
i am weighing the possibilities here. i am not sure if pastafarianism in the thing for me any more. i *might* want to serve lord tarvu.

Tarvuism:
Pros:
learn to speak to an octopus
opportunites for a position as preistmunty at my local chabbernaggle
it's SO easy to join!

Cons:
23rd birthday 'un-party'
no eating bread
no eating calamari
pilgrimmage to Baalb

Pastafarianism
Pros:
Pasta!
beer volcanoes and stripper factories
mountains, trees, and midgets
Pirates

Cons:
fear of the almighty noodly appendage
conflict with heretics
lack of organization in the church structure

Please help me. I am going through a tough time here

If I recall my theology correctly, the FSM doesn't give a monkey's how many other gods you worship. And Tarvuism seems like fun to me. I think I'll add it to my list, with the IPU and the Screeves of St Postula and the others.

I cannot comment on your tarvuism as I knew nothing of its existence until I read your post and all I now know about it is what you have posted.

I don't get your Pastafarian 'cons'. What's to fear about the almighty noodly appendage? What does it do except change the results of scientific experiments to fool us into thinking the universe is billions of years old?

Conflict with heretics? No such thing! Pastafarians are involved in exactly zero conflicts with anyone. There can also be no heresy; instead, we have flimsy moral standards, suggestions instead of commandments, a very loose canon and gospel with known and accepted contradictions.

Why is lack of organisation a drawback? With no organisational structure, there can be no pulling of rank or discrimination.

You know, there is nothing stopping you from saying that the FSM is some form of the Tarvuist god.


For example: It says [url]here[/url] at the Tarvu wiki that "Some Tarvuists believe Tarvu could turn into an octopus at will, albeit keeping his human face."

Perhaps Tarvu has revisited the world and revealed s'more of his will, but the person he chose to reveal himself had misplaced their glasses, causing Tarvu's octopus form to be mistaken for a flying spaghetti monster of some sort.

The problem I see with Tarvuism is where do you find an Octopus to talk to?
Fish markets might have them, but they would be dead.

Pasta can be found all around us, and we don't have to talk to it, just eat it.
