FSM TrueType Font?

Postby m610 on Mon Mar 15, 2010 12:49 pm

Another post here gave me the idea... a TrueType font that I can use in things I type. It would be like a symbols font, of course, with HIM, and Pirate stuff, and that wonderful skeleton fish, and a volcano...

Anyone here know how to make fonts?

Any other "symbols" we should include?

I think I'll look into what it take to create fonts. There must be some affordable font-creation software out there somewhere.

Also the Darwin fish, the FSM emblem, and other stuff like that.

I wonder what the copyright issue are for all this? Should I try to get Bobby's blessings first?

Found some software, demo version. Created my first symbol. Looks good. This is going to be fun.

I wonder if there are Jesus Fonts and stuff like that out there.

Google and ye shall be.. I forget the rest. Anyway, the answer is yes - http://www.fontspace.com/category/Jesus

I see some fonts on fontspace where letters are accompanied by pinguins and snowmen and such. Maybe we could make one with noodlely letters and the FMS and or Pirates Being incorporated into Caps.

Good idea.

I think I'll stick with the symbols font for now.

What's the name of that software demo? Maybe I can find it online and give a go.

High-Logic FontCreator

Linky: http://www.high-logic.com/fontcreator.html

It seems easy enough to use. You can import images and it will create the outlines. You can also import and modify existing fonts, which is probably what you want to do. In the demo you can't save your work.

creat a font is a good idea... but if we can ask Unicode Consortium to add the symbols for us, then all the famous font that support must do it themselves.
