Here is what she said:


"He is out of control but he has a point or three. I would join his
group if he re-baselines his theory to say the earth was made from a
spaghetti monster after binge drinking red wine. I mean....who the heck
drinks beer with spaghetti? Wine it is. That's it....I'm starting my
own intelligent design cult."

I would just point out that a monster, made of spaghetti, drinking beer is not at all the same thing as someone eating spaghetti whilst drinking beer.

You might also remind her that Bobby was in college when he wrote The Open Letter and his surroundings may have influenced his vision. And, unlike other religions, we also fully accept the fact that our prophet is not infallible.

Personally, I've always felt that everything in our religion is open to interpretation.

You could also remind your wife that current Pastafarian doctrine says that the beer volcano is just a name and actually it produces the beverage that tickles your fancy the most. For me, this will 9 times out of 10 be a really nice cup of tea, with the odd really nice real ale when I feel like it. So if she fancies a cheeky red wine, so be it. All's good.
