Dress up as the FSM?

Postby kwak » Tue Feb 03, 2009 4:47 am

Hi all,

i've just been invited to go to a fancy dress party with deity's as subject. Of course, i would like to use this opportunity to spread the word, but people will not really get it if i dress up as a pirate.
What would you suggest i go as, and how would you do it(the dressing up itself)?

thanks for helping me spread the word.

It's a fancy dress party? But people are dressing as gods and goddesses? I am confused.

Dressing up as any old spaghetti monster shouldn't be too difficult. The FLYING bit, though... Tricky.

May I humbly suggest that the 'flying' part could be implied by the lower part of the costume (the 'skirt' if you like) being constructed to resemble a cloud?

I always did that for parties - and the next day my friends would accuse me of having failed to attend...

I made a pretty good miniature FSM and I think you could use the same basic design and materials for a costume.

The meatballs are painted styrofoam. You could use those if you could find big enough ones. Painted beach balls would work as well. You could attach them together with a string and hang it around your neck.

The noodles are painted hoses for aquarium air pumps. Or if you wanted thicker noodles, Lowes or Home Depot have rolls of various sizes of clear hose that they sell by the foot. Just spraypaint them yellow. If you run some medium gauge wire through the center of the hoses you'll be able to shape them the way you want them better.

You can make eyestalks and attach them to a hat or headband.

For the meatballs, I was going to suggest an enormous brown padded brassiere...

Perferably pre-filled by the chest of an amply chested co-ed.
