List of Pastafarian Celebrations

Postby Maikie_G on Mon Dec 29, 2008 9:12 am

Hi,

I know I'm new here and it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of people would be telling me to shut up now, though I hope not. But I thought it would be a nice idea to make a list of all the celebrations, festivals and holidays in Pastafarianism. I'm sure His Holiness, The Sauced One, would appreciate it if we made a list for the newer members of the Church.

(maybe this has been done already, in which case, (mods & admins) don't hesitate to lock this topic down, but the search function didn't find it...)

The List so far:

- 19 September, Talk Like A Pirate Day

thanks for hearing me out.

With kind regards,

Maikie_G,
(Iron Jack on Fridays...)

English isn't much of a language for swearing. When I studied Ancient Greek I was delighted to discover a single word - Rhaphanidosthai - which translates roughly as "Be thou thrust up the fundament with a radish for adultery."

The major ones are of course:

Every friday - our holy day
Holiday - runs from when the Happy Holidays signs go up, to when the come down again (roughly 1 Dec - January)

Well in my neighborhood, the Holiday signs go up by early November, well before Thanksgiving. So we can celebrate Holiday much longer.

Don't forget Talk Like a Pirate Day on September 19. (That was especially holy this year, since it was on a Holy Friday.)

And Halloween is a good time to dress like a Pirate, so include that one too.

I've often wondered whether there shouldn't be a Pastafarian festival on Feb 12 to coincide with the birthday of Charles Darwin.

The voyage of the "Beagle" was act of piracy so Charles Darwin is a pastafarian. :fsm_yarr:

you should get the gospel, they have a good list of holidays... like Ramendan, where you eat ramen for a really long time... and much more!

The List so far:

- 19 September, Talk Like A Pirate Day
- 24-26 September, Beer Days
- Fridays
- 1 December to 1 January, Holidays, (plenty of opportunities to eat pasta with the family)

I'd love to get the gospel, but our liberal country (at least on paper, in practice it is often a fascist country) does not yet contain bookstores selling it...

It seems to me that the actor Robert Newton was well touched by His Noodliness :
1 He made a whole new century aware of the fine speech of our Pirate brethren
2 He made a life-long, if somewhat over enthusiastic, commitment to the bottled nectar.

As one beloved by Our Lord and probably an unsung Prophet I think that his birthday ,June 1st, should be a holiday in which we could raise a glass to his memory.
Also there seems to be a long time between Holidays and ITLAPD -we deserve a break!

Y'know, maybe we need to have a holiday in honor of our Great Prophet Bobby (pesto be upon him). Does anybody know when his birthday is? Or, if nobody does, maybe we could just pick a random day, or usurp some other holiday, the way the xians did with xmas.

If Queen Elizabeth can have an actual and an official birthday then so can the Holy Prophet.
So either he can designate an official Prophet's Birthday or we could choose one for him so that he is not distracted from his great and Holy Work.
Any good suggestions?

May I put in another vote for the Twelfth of February? This year, it is the two hundredth birthdays of Charles Darwin and Abraham Lincoln and my youngest two would be ever so pleased as it is also their sixteenth!

I'm going to start a new thread on this, since we have kind of gotten off the original topic.
