Misogyny and hypocrasy in Pastafarians Church

Postby Miss Footscray on Sat Dec 13, 2008 5:09 am

I would love to become a Pastafarian and be an active member, but I am dismayed at the inclusion of a 'stripper club" in Heaven. It's so disappointing and predictable that all religions, even sensible joke ones like the Pastafarians, build misogyny into their structure. I'm sure I'm not the only one severely put off by this. It makes a true joke of the Pastafarian creed of equality and tolerance, and makes any accusations made to other groups hollow. What a shame.

I've always believed that in Pastafarian heaven, the FSM will make the strippers look like the thing that attracts you first. So if you like women you'll see women, if you like fellas they'll be fellas and if you like pink fluffy creatures they'll be stripping pink fluffy creatures.

There's no misogyny save that which is assigned by people on the earthly sphere

CF

(BTW I'm female and I don't see any issue with it - and for the record I see the strippers as a cross between Orlando Bloom and Daniel Craig!)

I'm also female and have no issue with the stripper factory. I figure that I'd take stripper lessons in the stripper factory, and then do some stripping myself. Call it my after-death way of building self-confidence? (Not that I'm particularly lacking in self-confidence anyway, but still.)

Those stripping for me would probably look like a Johnny Depp-type Orlando Bloom with a touch of Benjamin McKenzie, in a mix of Alexandre Despaties' and Johnny Wilkinson's bodies.

In other words, mine and mine alone. No touchie. *drools over mental image*

Really?
Do you really need to be offended at strippers?
Personally, I'd be a stripper just for the fun of it. I don't think that it's degrading unless you want it to be.

Plus, there's not stripper factory if you don't want one.
Look! A new sig.

I'm surprised to find that strippers are generally pigeonholed as young women. I'm a guy and, why not, when I get to heaven I may give stripping a shot. I mean, with all the rum and grog I'll be imbibing, taking my clothes off is inevitable

The shame is letting one irrelevant piece of pseudo-dogma stop you from the fight for Teachers' Rights to Teach Peer-Reviewed Science in public classrooms.

When I think Pastafarianism, one of the last things I think about is the whole Heaven concept.....it is more about having a swashbuckling attitude against those who dare pass faith off as logical conjecture based on empiraically gathered evidence.

:fsm_float: The FSM is clearly a male. I mean, look at his…behavior. He got drunk and then created the universe. He has his biases. But unlike other fake gods, FSM is imperfect. He needs to be slapped around every now and then. So comments like yours are more than welcome. As FSM’s right-hand man, I’ll make sure that he gets his act together.

Well, the Gospel says that there are male strippers in heaven but that they are invisible to male heterosexuals. So, as a female, you get some strippers too. By the same note, do you suppose that the female strippers are invisible to the female heterosexuals? Or are female Pastafarians just that much more okay with other semi-naked women wandering around?

I think stripping would be cool but too much grog has not been good for my waistline. Need to drop 10 lbs.

Do you think that there are Chris Farley type chippendales dancers in heaven for the "chubby chasers"?

How would I learn their craft if I could not see the female strippers at work?

Well, see, you would see what you want to see, when you want to see it. If you wanted to see anything at all. It is a very accomodating Heaven, even for those who don't get the parody.

*Is suitably impressed*

Wow! So, in heaven I could see what would have happened in good shows that were cancelled, if they (the evil TV people) had continued the series?

So any strippers that you don't want to see are similar to a "somebody elses problem" from the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy series? :)
