Invisible Friend

Postby An Idiot on Sat Dec 06, 2008 6:41 pm

This is not my idea really it's taken from a stand-up comedian called Dylan Moran but that doesn't mean I haven't thought about this before (probably why I related/found his comment so funny). He talks about God as an invisible friend.

In most wesetern civilizations a child who doesn't 'get over' their invisible friend is usually thought to have serious psycholigical issues. What about people who beleive in a God? You get me?

I would love to hear an argument against this and am inclined to think it would start with: "It's not the same"...

My invisible friend is invisible even to me...so I don't know whether or not it really exists.

Ah, Dylan Moran. Great, great man. My invisible friend is anyone that I can conjure up that I might want to talk to. And the FSM.

My imaginary friend stopped answering their phone. Avoiding me, I think.

I questioned my rather religous family once about why kids "get over" their beliefs in the easter bunny, santa, etc. but yet x-tians consider it somehow noble to continue to believe in god. They didnt think i was very funny.

Judging by the grammar, I'd say cshaobup244315 is an evangelical spammer...

You know, I think that you may have a point here. The FSM is the best invisible friend that a person could ever have, especially pirates, for he protects them. Of course, we are probably the only ones where our invisible friend is real.
