True. Does anyone have the definitive answer?

Hermaphrodite.

The thin line between genius and insanity is less of a border than a union.

I was under the impression that the FSM was above such earthly concepts as gender.

I always presumed we used "he" to discribe the FSM in the same manner as we use "Mankind" to talk about human beings generally.

I'm with Fang. As far as I'm concerned, the FSM *is* existence. We merely interpret him as being the Spaghetti which Flies Monstrously because that's a cool thing to do.

We're just personifying something that exists in a way we can't comprehend. Luckily, humans invented deities a long time ago, so that fits the bill.

I'm having a hard time. I can't decide whether people speaking in tongues is freakin hilarious or insanely disturbing.

It's both. I thought it was a joke the first time I saw it, and I felt kind of bad for laughing when I was told otherwise.

I think I watch this movie differently then most.. i used to be one of those kids. I used to speak in tounges and convulse on the floor. I hate watching the movie since my parents did that to me as a child.

ha! what a great question. I was disowned by my dad for two months once he found out (i got back from americorps, told em i was.. kicked out of house ;))

Now he really pushes going to church and what not... family events are awkward.
(my uncles mom died.. he gave a turn or burn speech during the funeral and starred me down the entire time... everyone noticed)

It gets easier. I left the cult when I was 16. It was pretty rough back then but it definitely improves over time. 18 years later and the relationship with my parents is great. They've never accepted my decision and they probably never will, but I've been married for 12 years now, I have two beautiful well-mannered kids and I try every day (well most days) to live a good life.

I think on balance, they're happy with how I've turned out, and if they put that down to my christian upbringing....... so be it. I prefer to think that I turned out alright despite my christian upbringing, not because of it.

The most important thing (and toughest sometimes) is to still respect their beliefs even though you don't agree with them, and that's all you can ask in return.

I dont have much of an issue with others beliefs. I had to turn of that movie by dawkins since it seemed like he was fighting intolerance with intolerance. (militant atheism isnt for me)

The greatest thing about ideas is that there are so many of them... and even if I am wrong, there is probably someone who is right. If I believe in evolution eventually the right idea should come around.

Check out "Jesus Made Me Puke". It's an article from Rolling Stone about a guy who goes undercover in a evangelical church retreat. Creepy but funny.
