I have, and I'm pretty sure he's illegal.

He is but his Reefer is really good stuff and he's pretty good at construction.

Jesus camp was shut down, but reopened under a different name.

There's also http://camp-quest.org/ Which is a secular summer camp. California, Ohio, Smokey Mountains, Minnesota, Michigan, and Ontario.

Wasn't the US founded on the basis of freedom from religion?

Well, government-imposed, supported, or sponsored religion. Creepy bastards can still do what they want, as long as they can find a religious base for it. It doesn't even have to be a real religion. According to the supreme court, you can do creepy things in support of beliefs that you hold "with the force of religion". But only if the courts like you, I guess. I was reading a few years ago about a couple that was divorcing, and during the arguments for custody the judge decided that the mother would have to stop being a Wiccan, or lose custody. What was terribly messed up about this is that the father was a Wiccan, too, so it wasn't even a matter he had brought up. The judge decided that if the parents wouldn't be good Christians, then the mother's mother should get the children. Nifty.

It's movie's like this that dredge up thoughts of forming a commune out in the pine barens and then marching on DC when we become a theocratic police state.

My favorite part is when they're blessing all the facilities and equipment, warding off Satan so that he doesn't turn all the power off.

Cut to: Lightning Storm.

They had a power-outage. So much for the power of god (or humans invoking gods name) to ward of Satan.

And then the 10 year old boys start running amok without shirts on... you go, Satan!

In the dark heat of a California night, FSM appeared in my dream.

"No camp!", she said. "No camp!" :x

So there.

I'm sorry, did you assume the FSM was of the male gender? or had any gender at all?
