We discourage trick-or-treat, preferring the traditional Scottish 'guising'. The kids have to sing us a song, or tell us a joke, or entertain us in some other way. Then we give them terrible sweeties that will rot their teeth and make them fat, but also contain additives that will drive them temporarily insane. I am practising for grandparenthood.

What else would you call putting bootpolish on a telescope eyepiece? If Bart gets a black eye you'll know why now :idiot:

I had a FSM sighting this Halloween, up in Salem, MA. She was pusing a baby carriage with the Buddy Jesus (from Dogma). Apparently they were trying to explain the FSM to some passersby, when I ran up and screamed, "HOLY MACARONI!! IT'S THE FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER!!" I think they were happy that soome got it, and was excited to see the costume.

Cool. My neice and my cousin were both working in Salem that day, neice doing a radio remote thing, and cousin guiding tourists - herding sheep is how she describes it. I grew up in the next town over.
