Here is the Flying Spaghetti Monster spotted in early Japanese monster era.
I’m not 100% sure this is the FSM.
The protests in Poland against the cross in Warsaw are actually spreading across the country.
Here’s an article in newspaper in Bydgoszcz where you can see guys with a bowl of spaghetti and FSM on a banner.
Ian, from Poland.
I am proud to see Pastafarians engaged in peaceful protests all around the world. I will just point out that members of our religion, when protesting, are fighting for freedom and equal rights. We fight for positive change. You won’t see us trying to keep Mosques out of NYC. I’m just saying. Keep up the good work Poland Pastafarians. We are proud of you.
Looks like the FSM will be making an appearance on Futurama this week, Thursday at 10pm, Comedy Central. Here’s a preview.
This isn’t the first FSM sighting on the show.. could it be that there are some Pastafarians on staff? How do I get a job there? Futurama is my favorite show of all time.
I was reading the polish news on the latest development where in front of Presidential Palace in Warsaw was an ongoing protest about a cross placed there. The cross was meant as a memory for the late president who passed in tragic accident. No idea if you would follow those news, long story short: old & believers don’t want the cross to be moved to nearby church, and people who are for the moving of it protest against them. Lovely chaos.
Now, while browsing the pictures of it, I noticed His Holy Noodliness in the pictures!
I believe many non Pastafarians are missing the point…
I try not to be as condescending as some other pirates on this site, but there are extremists in all aspects of "religion". Deal with it. Truth be told, I get a little defensive too when my thoughts are criticized.
The reason I point out FSM to many people is to bring light to the absurdity that religion has taken. Most of the preaching you seen in the site is merely the regurgitation of other religions BS that we have had shoved down our throats since we were children. All we are doing is repackaging it and sending it back out. If you study religious history you will notice that this is the same way Christianity and many other religions came to be originally as well.
There are many redeeming qualities of the people of other religions and what they believe. I have many things in common with people who just want to do the right thing and “live and let live”. I just wish that people who preach other religions would realize that they, and the people that wrote the religions, are fallible and that there is a highly likely chance that no one here understands why we are here and exactly how we should be conducting ourselves. I would like to be able to live my life in a manner that I see fit without being persecuted. I am being persecuted by the overly religious and when I read this site I find that I am not the only one who feels that way.
Modern regions’ practice and doctrine is based on the brain power of men (no women’s opinions were even considered) who thought that the world was flat, the earth was the center of the universe, and that a good bleeding could pull the demons out of you. I think the human race is smarter and more evolved than that today. I do not know why people are so against thinking for themselves? I guess it is just easier to blindly follow.
I feel this site gives those of us that are tired of being pressured to believe in something that in our heart we have found to be childish and petty a way to finally come together and not feel so isolated in our feelings. Before this site, it was hard to express my frustration. Other religions already have mechanisms for this such as temples, and churches. This is site is a gathering place. I do not go into churches and criticize others for what they are doing. If you do not like this site, then don’t view it. I am sure I would get ridiculed and condemned if I were to walk into a church and start talking about how archaic and closed minded I think the belief system is. The members of the church would get defensive as do the members of this group when they are challenged.
I merely want to talk to and be around those that have the same moral values that I have. This is why we flock together in the same ways the larger “religions” do. So please let us have our space to be who we choose to be.
May the wisdom of the FSM be understood and enjoyed by all. Ramen.
Though the picture doesn’t do it justice, this is a picture of my brand new FSM tattoo. This was done in Syracuse, New York at Resurrected Tattoo, by Jemola Addley.
This is easily the best FSM tattoo we’ve seen, right? Who else noticed the beer volcano? Amazing.
I would like to bring you in the loop on a yearly celebration in honor of FSM and all things noodly. We call it Drunken Noodle Fest, and we are getting ready to celebrate the 4th annual next month ("DN4"). By we, I mean myself and my friend, Lee Kulick, and all of the Pastafarians we have managed to recruit. We started the tradition a few years ago and have had a lot of fun with it!
The festivities are billed as "pirate camping adventures in the woods paying homage to FSM" and the event is held each summer in a public national forest location in Colorado. We dress like pirates, drink grog, and have a jolly-good noodle of a time. We do our best to keep the event as green as possible by recycling and packing out all of our trash. The kids are rewarded for collecting litter, so we always end up leaving the location a little cleaner than we found it.
Each guest receives a Drunken Noodle survival kit. In the past, these have included hand-made items, such as pirate-fish tote bags, 3-D FSM koozies, and FSM magnets; as well as rum shooters (for the adults) and all sorts of pirate-y stuff. We camp from Thursday through Sunday and the main events occur on Saturday afternoon/evening.
We have a costume contest and give great FSM prizes (t-shirts, Gospel of the FSM books, key chains, car emblems, etc). Last year we made a FSM pinata, complete with giant meatballs and glow-in-the-dark googly eyes. Since it was so much fun, we plan to have another pinata at DN4. We will also be hiding a FSM pirate treasure (geocache) in hopes of spreading the word of FSM to others. Guests have been asked to bring Pastafarian-related trinkets to include in the cache.
Other items on this year’s agenda are a pirate-rubber-duck race down the creek (we will retrieve all of them, of course) and a hunt for the still-to-be-named rubber pirate chicken, both which will result in a special honor and fabulous prize package. Note: I did not realize there was a pervading "rubber" theme until just this moment.
Please let me know if you would like more information on Drunken Noodle Fest or would like to join the Drunken Noodle Pastafarians (private) group on Facebook.
All hail FSM!
