Urgent Action Needed - Senator David Vitter earmarks funds for Creationist Group
Senator David Vitter, R-La, earmarked $100k in a spending bill for a Lousiana Creationist group that has challenged the teaching of Darwinian Evolution in the public school system.
The bill specifies the payment is “to develop a plan to better promote science education.”
Clearly, this is important to Pastafarians, because we ALSO have a creation theory that challenges Darwinian Evolution - and our theory is backed by many in the scientific community.
Let’s contact Senator Vitter and let him know that the Pastafarian creation theory is the one that should be taught.

Vitter earmark withdrawn
Speaking on the Senate floor on October 17, 2007, Senator David Vitter (R-Louisiana) withdrew a controversial $100,000 earmark that he previously added to the appropriations bill for the departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education. The earmark was to the Louisiana Family Forum, a religious right group with a long history of promoting creationism and attacking evolution education in the state, including backing a “strengths and weaknesses” policy in Ouachita Parish.

In light of this, I think it’s no longer necessary to contact Senator Vitter.
