Holiday is the most important celebration of the year not only for Pastafarians worldwide but indeed, for everybody. It is the one day of the year where we are all Touched by His Noodly Appendages and we commemorate…well, nothing at all really, but that isn’t the point. Understanding this, the Most Irreverend Minister Tracy McPherson of the Pennsylvanian Pastafarians and her Noodly Flock have come together in request for a display celebrating Holiday.

Being of course the world’s largest and most prominent non-religion that has a deity who is truly edible and Full of Complex Carbohydrates, there has been much media coverage of the request for Holiday displays:

Unfortunately, the County Commissioners have not been Touched, and the request has been refused. However, the battle for reason continues. Tracy is pushing to get an appearance on the Daily Show with John Stewart, and you can show your support by emailing Guestpitch@thedailyshow.com

A good lawyer could argue that this decision was clearly an unconstitutional “establishment of religion”, as the commission has declared that only certain beliefs and symbols qualify as “religion”. If they had declared that only secular symbols would be permitted, or opened the display to all religions having a holiday near the solstice, they would have a much better defense.
Saying they will only allow displays from specific religions, chosen by them, is clearly unconstitutional. Who do they think they are?

I applaud her for mentioning that Pastafarianism is wrongly being regarded by some, even in our own ranks, as Satire.
The FSM is real since I can feel Him and He makes me feel good when i pray to Him. He guides me during different moments in life and i have seen Him several times in the smile of my baby boy. If Pastafarianism is satire, then you first have to proove That He does not exist.
Wench Tracy is doing a brilliant job in making people take Pastafarianism serious and make them follow scripture. She quotes with easy the Holy Book. Many of us should follow her example and get more knowledgeable on His writings, as they are the only true way to be saved from the Parmageddon and secure a front row seat at the Beer Volcano.
Keep going Tracy, don’t give up your fight. By spreading the Word, you are actually saving souls and humanity.
