Certificates of Ordination

certificate of ordination

Here’s something people have been asking about for a long time – Official Certificates of Ordination from the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.  If you have wanted credentials as an official Pastafarian Minister, here is your chance.

What I have told people for the last few years is that we could do this if we figured out a way to do it well.  What I did not want is to send out cheap paper certificates with generic foil seals.

These certificates are printed under glass and backed with a rigid mounting board.  They are in effect already framed and ready to hang in your home/office/ship. They are more like a plaque than a paper certificate, and they are impressive. This is the best way I could find to offer printed credentials.

So please take a look at the Ordination Credentials page and tell me what you think.

how do I get A license for Pa from you?

  2. Leandro Damasceno says:

AWESOME! How can I get one of those? I have a regular certificate…

  3. Scott Van Hoosen says:

I ordered one last week, and it just arrived, but it did not include the glass or hard backing, just a paper certificate. What’s with that?

    • Megan says:

Scott, did they ever respond to your inquiry? From their other page about the certificates it says “frame not included”, but this one repeats twice about the certificate in glass. I was about to order one until I saw your comment. $20 for a single piece of paper seems a little costly…

Scott & Megan–this is an old ad for the first generation of certificate which is no longer being made.
This older one was only a photograph, which had no foil seal and no hand-signature from Bobby.
A few of us Pastafarians were lucky enough to order this original version, which is now a priceless antique.

What is the officially recognized title for one who becomes a minister in the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster? It is “Your Holiness?” “Your Noodliness?” I think this is important to know, even though we normally eschew formalities.

    • Apprentice Frederic says:

A suggestion would be to work up a short pasta hierarchy, analogous to “Father”, “Monsignor”…”Cardinal”…etc. Of course, forms of address are slightly different from an actual title, e.g., Cardinal/”Your Eminence”. “Your Noodliness” probably should be reserved for the One True FSM. I looked at Wiki’s list of pastas and realized that “Strozzapreti” had gone completely over my head: it means something like “priest-strangler”. So I kinda like “vermicelli vendor” and “strozzapreti supplicant” as titles, but others will do better…..

    • Danny says:

As for title, I still vote for “Captain” and our congregation are our “Mateys” rather then our flock.

      • Apprentice Frederic says:

Danny – I really like “Matey” (as in: “..the sauce be with you, Matey Fanny…”) and vote with you there for sure. “Captain” does worry me as not – well – ecclesiastical enough. I wonder what Rev. Toni Rigatoni thinks?

  5. Leanna says:

In all seriousness, could someone ordained perform a marriage? I would like this to happen.

    • Devout Heathen says:

As I understand it, they can, but. The marriage will not have any legal status. Many years ago, two of my friends who are pagans, were handfasted by a proper bona fide priestess in a very interesting ceremony. However, in order to render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, they had to break out to the registry office, and there get legally married. Which they did, and the feasting lasted until the next morning.

  6. Seeking Ordination To The Priesthood? says:

The offices of Arcbishops, bishops, priests and deacons within the Orthodox Christian Dicipleship Ministries exist for the service of the faithful in providing them with spiritual guidance and support, as well as in the celebration of the liturgy and the sacraments and other functions pertaining to those ordained to holy orders.

    • Keith says:

Looks like K-Tel is branching into selling religion (all inclusive ordination package, eh? What? You want more?) http://orthodoxcdm.weebly.com/ordination.html. And here I was thinking that Archbishops, bishops etc. only exist for the power, the authority over everyday drones, the funny clothes and a job where they only have to work on Sunday.

  7. John says:

does anyone know if there is an age limit?

    • noname says:

I hope not, although I havent bought one, I hope to and I am still only a teenager

  8. Stephen P says:

Just a suggestion, it would really be nice if you could edit this page, so it states clearly that the certificate is no longer under glass. I love the certificate, but if i had known i was paying $30 for a single piece of paper with a foil stamp on it, I would have reconsidered
