This is a real religion?

Published March 13th, 2011 by Bobby Henderson

The government actually passed this BS as religion? You just did this so you can get tax cuts, your religion is based on christian hate because thats all i see you mocking on here, You might as well side with the church of satan who mocks their own belief, Just because youre too blind to be enlightened you have decided to scam all the atheists out there, in a way i have to side with you, because all of your followers are just as stupid as you are, nobody ever looks into history, philosophy or multiple religions before basing their faith, they always just side with hate and disbelief, when love is just the true meaning behind every religion, and science is formulated from the start of religion, it seems that your church and your followers will all go down the same stupid path, even if you are a teacher or a doctor you probably are a bad one at that, well except the church leader who is rolling in money from his t-shirts and probably initiation fees and getting tax cuts, what a smart way to scam atheist church goers, you might as well start the next jonestown massacre.

It is startling to me when you say that nobody looks into history before making a choice in regards to religion. Documented history (and just common sense) is exactly the reason why we atheists choose not to believe. Although I respect all beliefs, it is just too historically obvious where the Catholic religion comes from and the reasons behind its origin. And there is also the part where you are asked (not to say forced) to mindlessly and without question believe in a text written by man, with its consequent flaws. The argument that whoever wrote it was “inspired” by God is equally flawed. In our actual circumstances, with all the evidence at hand, could you actually stand up in a room full of educated people and say that Eva was created from a rib of Adam instead of accepting the incredibly well documented evolution of the species? Did mankind always look like we do today? The answer is no.
If you would have been born in an Islamic region you would preach the Coran. If you would have been born a Viking you would preach the lore of Odin and Valhalla. In the end it is just a geographical question. Where were you born?
I am not a Pastafarian, but I understand the underlying purpose of the movement. It is not to mock any religion, but just to make a point that any movement has the same right to exist as any other. You say “stupid path”, but who is to say that the path you criticize is not the right one? Who is right? There are endless variants of your same religion that categorically state that they are the only ones who are right in regards to “salvation”. Who is right? And if there was a god, would you believe he was so petty as to care what kind of clothes you wear or what kind of music you listen to? If my “salvation” depended on such a petty God I would most definitely choose not to humor him/her.

we had 2 visitors of mormon faith show up @ our door & i asked them 2 consider that other religions say they r the way, too & cited several & was met with 1 guy curious, th other disgusted & scornful. They had asked 2 enter, said how cool the radio music was & then instructed it b turned off. .
.has any1 ever considered a movement where all the mormon homes in any given region r listed out & people go to the doors in pairs & try 2 educate about other belief systems? all kidding aside, i get concerned about young, unarmed kids going door 2 door…this is not a safe world we live in. That is a dangerous proposition. With the advent of the internet, maybe there could b online meetings or such…i guess door 2 door face 2 face is traditional route…still i never understand this mission oriented stuff. On campus here , just off it in tow,, @ psu we had the preacher yelling on the street AT passerby biblical passages…this is where we first heard fsm as well…a reading was performed @ main gates a few yrs back by an on campus contingency…it was nnot made available @ the book store when we asked. It was not until now we looked it up…

How is this religion not based on love? It’s based on the belief that a flying spaghetti monster loves everyone, has no rules and wants to grant us with a pirate ship filled with beer and strippers.

Great FSM people are stupid. Just because the majority of believers were atheists does not mean he’s tricking them. As the gospel says atheists are persuaded by science and one can clearly see the correlation between pirates and global temp. Also because most of the FSM’s followers are atheist it actually means we have a higher average iq than any other religion.

Wow! Sign this guy up for sponge diving. If he speaks like he writes, he can hold his breath for a looooong time. Either that, or he has never heard of punctuation.

  5. Julius says:

Wait… you mean FSM is actually a state recognized “religion”?!?!?! That’s the greatest thing I’ve ever heard. I thought all our government ever did was not pass important legislation and fuck over mid and low income families.

  6. Flippy says:

Wow, since when do you get tax exemptions for a religion (my school doesn’t exactly teach these kind of things unless it’s what the over all idiots of my town want us to learn.) We’ve been studying in secret for thousands of years, and we are real.

    • Rev. wulff says:

Actually, Flippy, all of the major religions are tax-exempt in the US. I look forward to the day when we achieve our own tax-exempt status, for it will mean we have done our work well.

  7. brad says:

Most religions I have studied are brutal and bloody. The Christian Bible outlines how to keep and teat slaves, where to get them from and how to beat them. The God of the Bible by today’s understanding of what is right and wrong would be guilty of rape, mass slaughter of innocent children, genocide and slavery.

FSM… you betcha not taxes payed here
