The FSM is not a real religion. You just made it up and decided to plagiarize the bible. If you’re going to make up a religion have a fucking imagination and come up with you’re own quotes that haven’t been scammed off of the other legitimate religions of the world.
~Christine ~

Although the bible may take from other sources much of the bible is put into seperate words unlike “And so the FSM gave his only begotten son that whosever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting pasta”? I mean honestly. I do not call any of you idiots or attack you but I do want everyone to take a second and think about it logically. all religions to each person who believes in them are in their own way legitimate, who are we to judge them. do we honestly know? no we dnt and we will not know until the day that we die. it is not our right to decide who is right and who is wrong. I do not specify to which religion I belong because to do so is not necessary for it honestly has no meaning as to what I am saying. Although I will say that I am not a pastafarian. it is unfair for someone to automatically assume that everyone else is wrong. Many religious writings are simply remakes of older writings, such as the bible metioning hell which was an earlier concept that was more than likely just taken by a writer of the bible and decided that it was an excellent way to keep christians in line. Perhaps that is all that every religion is? a way for people to keep others from behaving badly. All religions were created by someone at one time and over the years they have changed. so put quite simply, followers of fsm have taken more of the words of the bible and made their own and it is WAYYY similar and therefore ridiculous but at the same time I do not wish to down talk the religion because I do understand that all religions are take offs from others. so think before you judge. and do not attack other religions.

There are no “giant holes” in evolution. It HAS been observed, and tested. Induced genetic changes have produced new species of insects, for example. It’s absurd that people like Craig will ignore mountains of evidence, yet cite strories from the Bible as proof of something.
Take for instance how he went on about Moses and the Exodus. Archeologists and Jewish scholars are now coming around to the fact the Exodus probably never happened. There is NO evidence a large number of Jews ever existed in Egypt or travelled en masse in the desert

this is exactly why i love my fellow pastafarians, we don’t fucking attack people for what they believe! FSM bless you because you are in dire need of his noodly appendage! is it that hard to accept other religions for you? pastafarianism is a legit religion and makes alot more sense than alot of other religions Ive seen (Scientology, Mormonism). and btw, i will give you 100 bucks if you can prove to me that the world was not created by a monster that resembles spaghetti and meatballs…IL give you a Minuit…exactly! read into pastafarianism, or even better, read the gospel of the flying spaghetti monster and compare it to some other bibles and you will probably notice that we tend to explain things a bit better in our own way. well thats all i have to say, and to all you haters who cant just believe what you choose and let others do so also, FUCK YOU. Yeh, Christine, you must be right. A REAL, legitimate, hairy-chested religion would do something like, like, well – evangelical. Mebbe throw an inquisition and light up a few heretics. Mebbe we oughta excommunicate summa them vermicelli vermin. Throw a couple a bombs, or even start a crusade! Oh – I know! Let’s try ta take over tha public schools and ’splain ta everboddy as how Jesus rode a dinosaur inta Jeroosalem instead of a donkey?

Legitimate? Ever noticed that FSMism is a mixture of all of the religions? Why is that? Because people took what they wanted to believe.

How dare you assert that pastafarianism is false!
There is already more logical proof of the FSM than of any other religion, how many miraculous sightings have they had? A few dozen in what 2000 years?
Theres tonnes of recorded, documented sightings here and we’ve been looking for a few years.
All the religions that came before is part of the FSM divine plan, they were primers, a basis a core to what would follow, the true teachings of the FSM, the similarities are deliberate and vital to the understanding of his noodely tangel
Anyway, how do you know its false?
You would insult us, cause us offense, is your religion much more important?
May your pasta be forever overcooked, your sauces inadequet and lumpy, may your meatballs always be dry and flavourless, may your tomatoes never ripen and may you never see or taste the sacred basil, oregano or garlic of the FSM ever again!
The FSM will curse you with all of this for your disrespect and disbelief.
Think yourself lucky if he doesn’t cast you assunder in the after life, throwing you against a wall to see if you be cooked, left and forgotten as you slide down the dreadfully cold, wall of disbelievers.

First- The FSM is in fact NOT a religion… the FSM is the deity of the religion. Pastafarianism is the religion.
Second- Get a REAL opinion [preferably one you are not just spewing from your mouth because it's what your parents believed, and thus drilled into your mind.] Maybe then the FSM will touch you with His noodly appendage and you will see clearly.
Temper temper Christine, wouldn’t want your God to get angry and smite you for using bad words :/ [or indirectly acknowledging the legitimacy of OTHER religions.]

“…legitimate religions…” what makes a religion legitimate? Why is Christianity legitimate? How about Scientology. Right to free speech and freedom of thought allows people to believe whatever they wish. I don’t complain to Christians claiming they worship a book of tall tales and an array of practices and stories based on ancient religions and doctrines. The story of Jesus is so close to some ancient egyptian mythology it’s unbelievable.
In my eyes FSM is just as legitimate as any religion; be it Christianity, Bhudism, Scientology, or Jedi!

Another point; why do so many people hate FSM? It’s done far more for humanity than any other religion. I encourage you to try to name a “legitimate” religion that hasn’t caused pain, suffering, war or turmoil. What has FSM done? Has it spent money, time, and lives attempting to wage war on, and kill those who disagree; much like the Christian’s and they’re oppression of science during the dark ages, the extremists from Catholicism and Islam.
Even Scientology has caused much hatred from large religions and extremist protests. FSM simply inspires fun; everyone who has posted a picture of his noodleness is up for a laugh and evidently enjoying themselves in the process! I recently introduced a friend of mine to FSM and she loves it!

Correct me if I’m wrong, but did she just openly admit that the Bible was based on imaginations? I’m just checking to make sure I interpreted that correctly. I have to admit, stating that a flying spaghetti monster created the world is pretty creative, and imaginative. :)

Dear Christine:
The bible has been plagiarized so many times it’s become kind of like a whore. You keep paying for it and it keeps entertaining you. Only problem is that the whore doesn’t know any more positions besides The Missionary Position, which gets boring really quickly.
Sincerely,
Meisha

Disciple (#167) – 2 other religions? It’s worse than that! The Jews lifted legends from other cultures such as the Babylonians when they created the Old Testament.
By the way, I like the Old Testament better. Nowadays, god is too soft and politically correct. In the Old Testament he’d fuck you up as soon as look at you! Slavery, killing anyone (even the animals!!) on land you wanted – hell, even your own children! – perfectly acceptable.

Christine,
Christianity is hardly original in itself. For instance I refer you to the following:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSm7YPMQOSo
that shows the astonishing similarities between Jesus Christ and a Roman God Mithras:
If you do not wish to watch the vid here is a brief summary:
- Mithras was a Saviour, sent to Earth to live as a mortal
- He died for our sins, and came back to life the following Sunday
- He was born of a virgin on December 25th in a manger/cave
- He had 12 disciples with whom he shared a last meal before dying
- His devities symbolically consume the flesh and blood of him
- As he was a sun god he was worshiped on Sunday
- He is often depicted with a halo round his head
- The leader of the religion was called a “Papa”
- Their HQ was on Vatican Hill in Rome
Sound familiar?

@ ~Christine ~,
Your letter makes several assertions, one of which I’d like you to expand upon. The inference that you are familiar with the language and structure of the bible, leads me to ask:
Of the four demonstrated lines of authorship in Genesis, Which author produced the first creation story? Why is it the first creation story in the book as we know it?
A failure to respond and answer will be taken by many of us to mean that not only haven’t you studied the sacred text, but that you have probably never even read it critically.
Please show that we’re wrong and that you can respond in a learned manner.

Poor Christine,
Flying Spaghetti Monster is the only religion that has a original idea, unlike your Christianity. You do know that the Christian religion has ripped off many other religions. For example Hinduism which was written a thousand years before Christianity. In Hinduism there is a god named Krishna and all the things that he experienced Jesus did to. Only a thousands years after Krishna. So maybe you should question your religion of plagirism before you do to anyone else.

What you say is blasphemous(that word is fun to use), Christine. If we are unable, in your view at least, to poke fun at other religions (note: that is not the point here), then why should you be able to criticize ours? I’d also like to ask what defines a “legitimate” religion. The FSM actually provides answers to questions or issues that other religions can’t answer, so I’m confused as to why it’s not as legitimate as other religions. People plagiarize stuff everywhere, it’s not all that uncommon.

Alright guys, aparently we aren’t “legitimate” enough. I’ve figured out that the other “legitimate” religions were very violent, but we’re npt. So to gain a “legitimate” status in other religion’s eyes we must kill them! Everybody meet at my house tuesday for cookies and punch and we can explain our holocaust plans. everybody bring a little something so we can all share. Pastafarians unite!

Christine:
Looks like everyone already touched on the point that the bible is a collection of plagiarized stories. At the risk of sounding anti-semitic, it comes down to the Jewish writers came up with the first Readers Digest Condensed book. The stories are great analogies and metaphorical wisdom, but definately not to be treated as a stereo manual, where everything needs to be followed to the letter. Hell, you probably condemed yourself to eternal torment by breaking a few rules out of Leviticus just this morning.
I am sure you are a good person and you feel that you are sincere in your beliefs. Just remember that there have been many civilizations all through history that had lots of omnipotent gods and were just as sincere in their beliefs. History shows how non-believers were treated with the same hatred and intolerance that can obviously still be seen today. I bet you along with everyone else you know laughs at the idea of the existance of the gods Mars, Pluto, Venus and Zues. But you have to remember people felt the same about them then. So… next time your at the store and buy a mars bar, a Lady Venus razor and a disney book with Mickey Mouse’s favorite dog Pluto, just remember in a within a few decades Christian mythology will fall by the wayside also so look for “Yahweh Tampons” coming out to market soon
