Brad,
While I do not fully understand the underlying meaning of your question, there is the most basic reason why one could not follow both religions.
To quote the Christian bible, “Thou shall have no other god before Me.” There goes the double religious idea. Though, I do believe you could choose one or the other, and keep some of the principles of the other. For example, should you choose Christians, you could retain the ideals of the FSM, and not force your belief down stranger’s throats, or start wars, or what ever.

The versions of the 1st commandment in Exodus 20:3 and Deuteronomy 5:8 both use the words “…have no other gods BEFORE ME” in most translations. The Vulgate says “non habebis deos alienos CORAM ME” (IN FRONT OF ME), and Martin Luther rendered it as NEBEN MIR – literally “near me”.
All this suggests that a Christian or Jew can have another god, but only in the correct position. Make sure the FSM is slightly behind Jebus and put him about 13 feet 6 inches higher up on the left, just to be safe.
