graduation insert

Every year my town publishes an insert in the local newspaper, with a little article for each of the graduating seniors. Being the fervent Pastafarian that I am, I decided to take this as an opportunity to promote our Holy Lord, the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

I’m sending you a picture of the page it was included on, and then a close-up of just my article, with the FSM reference highlighted. Hope you like it! ;-)

    Dear Sister Amanda,

Like it? I love it! Outstanding job of outreach for the CoFSM. You have secured your place next to the beer volcano and stripper factory, for sure. There will be even more converts because of your efforts.

I, and I am sure all Pastafarians, wish you much success in your future endeavors.

    Awesome message!

So, what are you going to tell your dad when your front yard is inexplicably swarmed by strange men dressed like pirates bearing bouquets constructed of pasta?

Nice to see such ballsy girls out there. By the way, you look amazing on that picture, I was hoping I was the only jawdroppingly gorgeous guy on this site.

Dear Noodly Lord, you are an inspiration to young Pastafarians everywhere!

Not only that, you have quite possibly the most insanely awesome last named ever to exist on this earth. I must admit… I am severly jealous.

Unfortunately (for me!) I’m both married to a lovely woman already and likely to be dead in another decade or so in any case. Otherwise, I’d join a group about the size of the suitors of Ulysses’s wife’s (suitors passionate and maybe deluded, LOFLMAO)….you have a tremendous future in this life and on the slopes of a volcano in the hereafter….may your life and career be blessed and touched by the Unseen But Real Appendage of His Noodliness….

I graduated last year i made a grad quote for the year book that had a similar message about world peace using FSMism as a conduit and the quote was rejected (while not being a catholic i did attend a catholic high school mostly because it was the closest one to me and the only other school i was in the vinicinity of was a huge drug and gang thing, it was a decent school but i will never forgive them for rejecting the quote).

*Sigh* Born too soon. I wasted my youth dating Catholic girls.
Of course back then, we didn’t know about the FSM.

Hey, I just wanted to thank everyone for the incredibly nice comments. :D That’s really cool, seriously. (Same to the people who sent me messages or friended me on MySpace and Facebook.) I really enjoyed reading all the responses. Ramen to all of you, and may you live long and prosper.

(BTW, Nibbly – yes, that’s really my last name. ;-) Thanks. LOL, I’ve gotten some comments on it over the years, but I think people might think it was a little less awesome if THEY had to write all that out 7 or 8 times a day at school! :P)

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
