your movement is pointless

Do you really think you’ll get your point across by creating a fake religion?

The reason why Mythology is taught in schools is to enrich our knowledge of cultures that existed way before your ancestors were born. There’s a similar reason as to why religion is taught, those who don’t believe in it, can just go along and learn the views that people had hundreds of years ago, again it enriches them by showing them why others believe.

I find that the church of The FSM is a big joke, no it wasn’t found such a long time ago, you dweebs, I can’t believe there were people who actually considered believing that. Did you, for one second, think that MAYBE just MAYBE your insulting a large group of people out there, that they will be deeply hurt because of your sick ingorance towards basic facts.

And what’s up with the website? Dude, do you not have a life? Shouldn’t you be studying if you’re in college, at least.

I”m not going to say that you’re in my prayers and that crap, because you aren’t, and all those people who said you were in their prayers lied to you, because they probably forgot all about it when they navigated from the page, that’s the type of impact you’re making on the world.

Well, what can I say, it IS your time to waste. Have fun, if it makes you happy.

~ Stela~

Quite apart from all theological disputation above, the point of the Church of the FSM is to marshal opposition to machinations of numbskull bigot ID-pushing schoolboards, and the Church seems quite manifestly to have done that.

@tFtPtM: great point! I dimly remember that Bertrand Russell tells a story about a preacher who moved out of his manse; the manse subsequently burned down, and the preacher fell to his knees and thanked God for his deliverance. Russell remarked that he wondered what the new preacher who had moved into the manse said to God…..

Yeh stela, i never got the point about why people believe in things. People may have seen god and jesus and tom, dick and holy harry but the one time i saw jesus, quite honestly i was down near plastered and he was trying to scab my piss off me.
From everything i heard about religion, if you piss god(s) off you burn forever or go to a dark abyss for ever.
I find if christians want to solve problems, the instead of having bake sales and can drives ect, this is a crazy thought, STOP BUILDING STUPID LOOKING BUILDINGS YOU USE ONCE A WEEK AND USE THE MONEY TO HELP PEOPLE!

I think that we all had the right to believe in ”what is right”. And I don’t think that the people who are replying to this in a negative way are getting the point. Go read on wikipedia what this religion is about or search it on google. Ask questions and try to find your own answers without judging other people. If you believe in god you believe in heaven and in hell and if your a good person and you believe in god you go to heaven but when you don’t believe in god (which means that you don’t believe in heaven and hell) and your a good person that you go to hell. That doesn’t makes sens. The words ‘I Believe In God’ means that you believe in it but, it doesn’t mean that it excist. I can believe in coockie monsters (wich I don’t just to make that clear :P) doesn’t make coockie monsters real. It’s a mirror for you people and you need to look in this mirror for spaghetti monster sake!

    - Me

There were no coockie or flying spaghetti monsters hurt by typing this tekst.

People are deeply hurt because of our beliefs? Does Hinduism ‘deeply hurt’ people? No. Does Judaism ‘deeply hurt’ people? No. As far as I can make out… it’s mostly intolerant people who are disrespectful and condescending that ‘deeply hurt’ people. And… yeah, those peope are mostly Christians. So stop being an asshole and get on with your meaningless and Flying Monster-less exsistence.

Skriblzz, Christians have far more evidence… they have a book that was written a whole 2000 years ago, would you know it and because of its antiquity it proves that the lord doth exist. This because everything from that era have proved to be completely accurate. If you take examples such as chemistry, biology and the art of conning money out of people, everything the ancient people said still stands.

So then, if you have a book that was edited, censored and adjusted about 300 years after half of the stories (most of which were renditions of middle eastern myths at the time) were written, it surely proves the hand of the lord.

At least the muslims have a plausible story which ‘proves’ the koran to be the word of god, but its all bullmanure!

It is our time to waste, and it makes us happy, unlike many negative impacting religions out there that actively harass people on disagrements between their silly beliefs. Those touched by His Noodlie Appendage are rarely found going out of there way to condemn people.

FSM gave me a whole new perspective.
i think its funny how many people keep dissing FSM and Pastafarianism when really if they believe a religion its like they’re dissing themselves. wasnt this religion created because anyone can believe what they want to believe? well a whole bunch of people just liked the movement so they joined in. really i find it funny how so many Christians are offended by this. so should i be offended by your religion of Christianity? i dont think so. and im not. really you people are taking it much to heavily. but i suppose if there are haters against this then really it must be good. cuz if it wasnt, hell it wouldnt have any haters at all

Maybe your point would be valid if religion were taught in the same way mythology is: as the perspective of one culture, with the acknowledgement that some people believe it, but it’s scientifically false. But the fact is, Creationism is taught just as seriously as science, and is treated as fact. This is why we must offer our religion as an alternative.

Oh FSM oh FSM oh FSM!

What truly gets to me is how stupid the writers of these hate mails are!
How can they not get the point?
How can they not see that they insult their own intelligence!
How can they not see that nobody truly believes in the FSM?
Here, if any of you morons are reading this im just gonna break it to you.

WE DONT BELIEVE THAT ANYTHING AS UNLIKELY AS A FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER CREATET ANYTHING, AT ANY TIME.
    YOU, HOWEVER, DO.

That is kind of the whole point.
By telling us how supid we are believing something so ‘ridiculous’ you just proved our point.
YOU are the ones believing something ridiculous, we on the other hand, are merely making fun of you.
and NO we are not laughing with you, we ARE laughing at you.. you ignorant, fundamentalist assholes.

PS. If there is indeed a god, you insult it and the intelligence it has provided you with, by believing in it.

    OMG, I love you guys!

You made my day! I love spaghetti! Now go get a life, and stop commenting on my letter, it was posted like…4 months ago, may be even before that. It’s old news.

P.S. BTW, there exists a world where agnostic, atheist and religious people sit at a table alike and are close friends. This happens to be my world. But you need respect for that sort of thing. What really pissed me off isn’t that you don’t believe, you can’t bring faith to someone who doesn’t want it. It’s that you find it fun to taunt, insult and disrespect others. You’re the ignorant ones. If you were more open minded, you would be able to actually talk to people of different cultures and understand their views and respect them. Unfortunately you’re way too hardcore for that thing. And being hardcore anything isn’t healthy.

this morning i woke up and saw in the newpapers that two cars exploded in the centre of bagdad. i think the’re no virgins left in islam sucidebombers heaven. how on earth, in heaven, or somewhere else in the universe, does anyone in his right mind think this is what his god wants?

well i try to lighten up a bit, and found this on youtube: a HUMOR AND SATIRE ATTACK

this was made by ‘draadstaal’, satire on dutch television. the guy wants to be a suicide bomber, but isn’t good enough, bin laden is looking for professionals. ‘it’s a pity, no little virgins, maybe i will become a butcher,’ he says afterwards. i like to stress there were no riots in amsterdam of rotterdam because of this item on television.

in the next one yo see gnomes who are ‘FOKKING’ mad. their existence is completely ignored, people who believe in them are ridiculed, the gnomes feel offended by it, one of them blew himself up, but no-one ever noticed. the gnomes are warning us arrogant humans!

well this one is a famous, pointed at another fundamentalist: geert wilders (of the anti-islam party who bleaches his hair to look like a ‘arian’). it’s called ‘geert wilders warns for a muslim tsunami.

“P.S. BTW, there exists a world where agnostic, atheist and religious people sit at a table alike and are close friends. This happens to be my world. ”

Good for you that you live in a pink world of your own.
In my world, religious people fight each other with deadly consequences.
In my country religious people bomb and kill doctors who legally perform abortion.
In my country many religious people preach hate to homosexuals.
In my country religious people try to sneak their version of creationism into public schools and hold back science.
In my country religious people insist in forcing their religious dogmas into Government laws and because they are majority they succeed. A religion belief forcibly enabled by the majority as law is the only thing standing against homosexual equal rights to marriage.

And the moderates? They just cross their arms because the situation is comfortable for them. And if someone dares to come up with criticism to hold back the few secular positions that are left, they cry offense.

If religion were a truly private matter, only a personal choice but never an imposition in society in any form maybe we would all be living in your pink world.

    ps:
Now, answer with honesty … what do you really want? A secular country with impartial laws that grant equal rights and access to both believers and non believers ? In this case, help clean your yard of the fundamentalists.

Or a country tending to teocracy that will grant rights only to the majority? In this case, keep crying offense and providing cushion to the fundamentalist hidden behind you.

    I rest my case.

Are bigots ever going to realize this is a parody of religion, not discriminating as all true Pastafarians know that is sacrilegious. It was created as a hope that so called ‘intelligent design” would not be taught as a science. I wish these people would actually do some research before they resort to hatred, as they only end up making fools of themselves, and the world has enough theists.

1.)Do you really think you’ll get your point across by creating a fake religion?
-yes, the fact that so many people are razzed by this religion (/website) proves it, thus your 1st posted question is (in and of its own existence) self defeating … (lol)
2.)The reason why Mythology is taught in schools is to enrich our knowledge of cultures that existed way before your ancestors were born.
-a)it is not classified as “Mythology” in schools it is placed on a more “fact based” pedestal as “intelligent design” as in it is of equal merit as “evolution”.
-b) she seems to think that any of our ancestors just spontaneously appeared out of “the great mystical vagina” and that “our ancestors don’t have ancestors”.
-3) those who don’t believe in it, can just go along and learn the views that people had hundreds of years ago.
    -a) more cultural BS
-b) why do you think colleges don’t teach this crap in their major fields like IT and Bussness? Cause people don’t want to pay for it!!!
-c) this is why I assume you don’t have a life… and why you will never be an office holder… my taxes should be better spent on the learning of important stuff so employers can have better workers with better knowledge bases (and they wonder why high school diplomas don’t mean shit)
-4) I find that the church of The FSM is a big joke,
-A) oh she might be catching on now let’s keep reading…> (sidenote she calls others “dweebs” [LOL]) it is and thanks to “south park” it has been a common joke for some time now…
-5) “they will be deeply hurt because of your sick ingorance towards basic facts.”
-a) oh now she is talking of “FACTS”… please go on… oh none… o well… (I was hoping for some)
-6) And what’s up with the website? Dude, do you not have a life?
-a) Websites are easy to put up and require little upkeep after its built. Unlike a magazine
-b) yes, he probably dose and he is making a stand for what (in his thought) is right (cause he is not a pussy). Cause if people truly do get away with this, you get just as a fucked up religions as FSM like scientology who can influence our public schools. Thus creating a whole work force of multi-minded artards that are worthless in any job that requires logic or reasoning instead of “cause the bible told me so” thinkers.
-7) Well, what can I say, it IS your time to waste. Have fun, if it makes you happy.
-a) I think she is missing something here, this guy isn’t wasting anything if nothing else the whole point is to save something, like tax payers money, or the children from time wasted on knowledge that is best kept in church not in schools, or maybe just trying to keep someone from taking advantages in loopholes that this state left open… just a thought there…
    END?

It’s only a joke man chill out! its a free world we live in anyway, people can do what they want, say what they want and and certainly believe in what they want to… Who cares?! Its not being rude, your over-reacting. I don’t believe in a specific religion, I take on board information from all different beliefs and religions. I am open minded to all, You are right, that myths and beliefs do teach you, and make you in some ways a better person… I just stumbled accross pastafarianism now and, of course, they are right, as well, in the questioning; For, after all, every religion and belief has a book… So aren’t they all just stories anyway?! Come on, us humans made up the bloody belief system to begin with, for if humans, had no belief, we would haveno reason to live. As I said before, its a free world. I do what I want, say what I want and believe in what I want, I even party, do drugs and have done many bad things in my life. Well thank goodness I am not bound to asking forgiveness from YOUR god. I can forgive MYSELF and move on with my life. So go to an open beautiful field, light up a joint, breathe in the sweet smell of weed in the soft, exhilarating air, and chill the “hevean” out… Peace and love x o

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did.
