How can you know that God is a F.S.M. if he is invisible? If he is invisible how can you see him?
What is said on this website, in your books and amongst yourselves doesn’t change what the Bible and the real word of God says. Gods word is like gravity, just because people don’t believe in it doesn’t mean it’s not true and doesn’t mean there aren’t consequences to jumping off of a cliff. Someone can easily say “I don’t believe in gravity because I can’t see it, etc..because it’s an old belief….” but that doesn’t change the fact that it is there. This is like Gods laws for all of humanity.
Have any of you ever seen your own brain? Does that mean that it isn’t there? Have any of you ever seen your heart? Does that mean that it isn’t inside your body still beating? Have any of you ever seen your soul? Does that meen that it isn’t there?
The fact is that we do have souls and I heard it put this way “If God did not exist than man would create one” and this is what has been done with the F.S.M. group. You have created a God and the Bible calls this idol worship. Often times groups in the Bible would create an idol to worship because they couldn’t see or hear or touch God.
God’s fingerprints are on all of creation and more and more scientists and peole are recognizing this alike. Antony Flew, one of the worlds most famous atheists has recently said that there is a God and one who is intelligent. The Bible does say clearly that man was created in his image (Genisis 1:27) so we know that God is not a flying spaghetti monster.
On another note, God’s word was written because He loves us and showed his unending love for us through his son Jesus Christs death on the cross and ultimatley, His resurrection from the grave. Romans 10:9 says that “If you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Salvation comes through Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ alone (John 14:6).
I would recommend that anyone who is a follower of this group to read not only the Bible but a series of books from a former atheist called “The Case for Christ” and “the Case for Creator” and from there you can draw your own conclusions. If you are truly seeking for answers in life than I would encourage all of you to search for those answers and don’t just give up by creating your own religion/idol.
Romans 3:23 says that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God”. That means you, me and everyone else in the entire world.
Think about it, if all the people in the world were on a boat in the middle of the ocean and the ship was going down and there were no lifeboats, everyone would need a Savior no matter how hard they tried to save themselves. That savior is Jesus Christ. Every other religion in the world is saved through works and Christianity is the only one where we are saved by our faith alone. Once a person proclaims that Jeesus is Lord it is up to that person to live his/her life for Him.

Which is to say that Christians can do whatever the hell they want in life and as long as they profess a belief in Jesus and admit to their crimes weekly to their priest, they will be eternally rewarded. While someone who acts morally without belief in or fear of a god or heaven will be punished forever. The arrogance of that is what makes His Noodliness so angry from time to time.

If god really loves us, he wouldnt let us die in the thousands, he wouldnt let torture and rape and slavery exist, he would do something. he seems perfectly content to see the human race kill themselves. If he is so powerful, why doesnt he do anything. and btw CD, prove god exists more than the FSM. and the ols”we have more followers”excuse doesnt cut it. sorry but its true. question your faith and do some research. And if you are really commited, dont try to convert a bunch of FSM ers into becoming religions.

Your religion turns away my family from their church, while saying that we will go to hell if we don’t find God and other BS. I would just like to respond to a few of the points you made. To begin, and this has undoubtedly been stated multiple times in other posts, you cannot draw parallels between the existence of God and the force of gravity. Science can prove gravity exists (well, it is more accurate to say that science cannot prove that gravity does not exist), whereas there is no standardized scientific measurement to calculate the force of God. Although we cannot see the force of gravity itself, we can see its effect on the objects around us. This is not the same for the effect of God in our everyday lives.
Secondly, your argument that people believe in their brains or hearts even though they have never seen them does not hold hold water (holy or otherwise) either. Millions of surgeries have shown that every time you cut open a chest, you find a heart; if you look inside a skull, you find a brain. It is not an act of faith believing that you have the same organs as every other human, but a trust in science. And as for the soul part, I believe that medical science still has yet to find that.
Ironically you state that you “heard it put this way ‘If God did not exist than man would create one and this is what has been done with the F.S.M. group.” How can you prove that the writers of the bible did not do the same thing that Bobby Henderson is doing with Pastafarianism? Maybe God did not exist for them so they created one like you said they would, only they did it a few thousand years ago.
Finally, your scenario about the whole of the Earth’s population being on a boat (and for the sake of argument lets assume it is a very big boat to fit billions of people in, maybe an ark if you will) in the middle of the ocean and that boat starting to sink is once again contrived. I have a feeling that no matter how much praying you did, there would not be some almighty entity that would swoop down and rescue you. Although in the event that you did happen to swim for your safety and survive, you would probably attribute it to God saving your life, even though he let many others drown around you. But they were probably not Christians anyway so that’s all good.

My note to CD in -406-has a talk by Dr. Andy Thomson that you should listen to. Perhaps if you were smart enough to read and follow the directions that were clearly given to you when you entered our site, you would have had your questions answered. After reading the Open Letter and the “About” tab material, you could have learned:
1) Our mission is the exclusion of religious mythology from the science curricula of public schools.
2) Our theology is a satire that neither depends on, nor is derivative of any other religion.
3) We insist that any school board that includes any religious mythology in their science curricula, must also include ours.
As believers feel free to make claims about the way the universe works, then they should be challenged on it. That’s what happens when you make truth claims. That your claims are hard to back up is unfortunate. i was thinking one day that poppin fresh,the pillsbury dough boy, must be the FSMs only begotten son. as this half baked idea was taking shape, i came across a pair of poppin fresh boxer shorts in a big box store. i put them on and tried to evan believers. this didn’t go very well as all the store patrons were able to escape to the exits. one brave clerk behind the make-up counter did listen before expressing her doubt. then 2 weeks latter i was in the home of my wife’s grandmother who had recently died. on the refer were 4 [not 1 but 4!] PDB magnets. verrily i say unto you my fellow believers,this has to be a mirror-a-cal. i would propose that we add a communion ritual with PDB dough shaped like ginger bread boys. we could bite their little heads off and have a drink of white wine [his holy urine]. this could add credibility to our belief system as plagiarism seems to have worked well for the 3 desert dogmas. let me know what you think.

My Dearest Danielle,
You have not given us a singular reason why the FSM isn’t a legitimate god. Perhaps we find comfort in portraying god as a Holy Pile of Noodles and sauce.
I find it odd that you are so disrespectful of our religion, when you sincerely and honestly command and (if I may be so bold) demand respect for your religion above all else. Naturally, you are asserting that your Bible and your religion are immune to criticism. This is complete and utter bunk, because it is impossible for you to say that you have come to deserve this sort of respect. You have done nothing to deserve respect for your religion, and in fact the Bible, were it not considered a holy book, would not be allowed on the coffee tables of the most liberal of Americans.
If you are not ashamed of your Bible then you have not read it. I frequently find that agnostics and atheists are frequently much more knowledgeable about the Bible and all of its bits, unpleasant, pleasant and so forth.
If you live by the Bible, as you say you do (pointing out passages and whatnot), then indeed you would condemn rape victims for being raped, and force them to marry their rapists. You would agree that children who disobey their parents should be stoned to death. You would agree that if you encountered someone who disobeyed your god or denounced him in front of you, you would have to kill him if he neglected to convert.
And, above all, if you did not do the preceding actions when encountering these situations, then you would indeed go straight to hell.
I do urge you to look these things up and to read the Bible, even just to discount that. If you argue that those passages are not in the Bible then you have not read it cover to cover. In fact you likely haven’t even read Genesis, which contradicts itself nearly twenty times (and that’s just one book).
The real truth is that most Christians never actually read the Bible (and I mean the whole thing). You may study the Bible, read from it at church, in sunday school, or what have you, but the likelihood is that you haven’t read it at all and you choose which passages assuage your feelings of guilt and help you feel better about believing in an invisible, man-made god, whose ‘parts’ don’t exist, especially his undead son.
