    Praise His Noodly Goodness.

Let me share a funny moment with you all.

My 6 year old son came home from (non religious)school last week and said a couple of teachers had told him Jesus created the world. Now we live in England so this is less expected than for my American brothers and sisters.

Anyway, I had already explained to him about the various myths of religion and that when he was a lot older we could go through them all and he could digest them. I also told him they may not be any more true than Robin Hood or Spiderman but they were generally nice stories.

I also told him about the FSM and explained how if he wasn’t interested in anyone telling him their beliefs he should claim the FSM created the universe. He understands the FSM is to be told with a wink and a smile.

So, back to the story. He tells me and the good wife about the Jesus claim and I ask him what he thinks. He looks at my wife who he knows thinks I’m wrong to tell him about the FSM, even though she’s an athiest, and says he knows the FSM created the world. Apparently he told his teachers this. He’s a cheeky little fella but very bright.

My wife and I had a row about it but it was well worth it.

He absolutely loved the wind up. He knows as much as he can at his age about the Big Bang and evolution and is enthralled by science. He’s so much brighter than his old Dad.

At 6 he may well be the youngest active fighter for the cause.

I hope I didn’t bore you all with my little tale of joy.

May His Noodlyness smother us all in His Sauce.:-)

What a wonderful story. FSM does truly fight ignorance on earth. Let’s just hope that some of the ignorant get it once in a while.

I’m proud of the little guy, Zinc. Be sure to give him a hearty portion of spaghetti and his favorite non-alcoholic beverage. (6 being a bit young for grog and all.)
