Holiday Ornament

Our friends at WebUrbanist posted this FSM Holiday ornament:

Possibly the best thing to happen to Christmas, ever, this hand-felted Flying Spaghetti Monster is so wrong, yet feels so right!. Not only does it fly in the face of the entire myth of Christmas but it does so while looking too adorable to be offensive.

Sounds a bit like a sales advert, but it is cute. :)

    Oh yes, OMFG.
Love the open letter to the Kansas school board. Love, love, LOVE.

As Sam Harris so eloquently said:

Tell a devout Christian that his wife is cheating on him, or that frozen yogurt can make a man invisible, and he is likely to require as much evidence as anyone else, and to be persuaded only to the extent that you give it. Tell him that the book he keeps by his bed was written by an invisible deity who will punish him with fire for eternity if he fails to accept its every incredible claim about the universe, and he seems to require no evidence whatsoever.

It’s really nice, but the meatballs look like bull-balls wrapped in twine. I’d hang them both on my tree!

“high noodliness” is one of those rare things that sounds as good in English as it does in Finlandish

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
